We implemented that system after the VT tragedy so it would be hard to get the recognition before it.
I've actually heard that they are going to put the gate down at all time at the lincoln blvd entry to make the campus more secure. Mmm...

What will happen if the LMU drive gate gets backed up? Sometimes there are a lot of cars coming in at once.

Well, they said they will keep the gate open in case of a large event on campus.
I don't like the idea of keeping the campus gated at all time. It's inconvenient for most of us, plus, it's going to deter interest from passerby. This is a time we really need to make ourselves more open and more avaialble to the public.

I agree, and I don't think the campus is really any safer by not allowing guest cars on campus, I think it is more of a parking issue for the school. They want to tell visitors they can only park in the Hannon Lot with the new emphasis on where everyone can park. One can easily park on 80th and walk on to campus if they want to cause trouble in my opinion.

Big brother is in complete control of LMU now. They are starting to put the spikes up around Loyola Blvd. It could still be easy to get on campus. I think pepperdine is gated 24/7 but the gatekeepers let a car full of LMU kids onto campus with no hassle even when our stated business was to "check things out".
