This was an interesting youtube showing sdot's performance against the Gauchos during Homecoming earlier this season. Let's hope the touch comes back for the rivalry game and the lions can really turn things around. The fans sure wouldn't mind.

I don't think the touch has ever left. Listen to the commentary, he says feed him the ball. In the Santa Clara game he was dialed in but then didn't get another shot until late. You can't get only 3 shots up (saint marys) not getting enough shots. Ball movement to get a shot in a shooting position, I could go on. I would like to see Shawn use all of his game, getting to the rack, his step back move and creating opportunities by getting to the rack for the bigs.
The touch is there you just got to get the shots up. Good U Tube though. This just hasn't been happening, why I don't have a clue but I do know frustration is setting in.

ANSWER: This is a coaching issue. When players such a Deadwiler get hot (example....the Santa Clara game and Deadwiler reeling off ), RT seems to not let the well run dry before he stops running plays for that person or he will substitute for this relatively hot player. RT is making substitutions at a non-favorable time or not having plays run for that particular player who seems to have "the touch" on a given night. This does not happen all the time, but it definitely happens the majority of the time. I have seen this happen several times for OJ and Deadwiler. It is these types of things I see and ? the coaches more often than our players. |

He has my son doing a great job but I want better out of him. The cohesiveness is there one night and the next night not but I beleive in what RT is doing and the ship will be right and we will be competitors in the WCC next year. We just have to play together, know the plays and move the ball and start doing it on a consistent basis. Players are accountable too, the coach can call the plays but the players have to execute. I wish we would get off this RT stuff he's class act and he does things the right way. |
