A painful second half to listen to. The rebounding stat is embarrassing and a nightmare. We will not win games with that sort of effort from the inside. So much for our first winning streak. I'm not sure who is in charge of conditioning the bigs but what is going on there.

Tention's comment is spot on. Great first five mins and then the energy just died down. There is no vocal leader on this team. RT doesn't yell nearly enough...i wish sometimes he can stop being kind to the players.

Hey Lions, Not to be too much of a stickler, but GAELS beat SCU by 31. And, it's John Bryant, not Joe. Our Omar Samham and Jon are actually pretty good friends off the court since high school.
We'll see you soon at the Den.
GO GAELS!

Were you at the game I was and right behind the bench and I'm pissed "*@.s.s." There is a deeper problem here. We should not get beat on the boards night in and night out and some players are in others behind but we NEED to get it DONE each night not take nights off. Some players need to make the right play not a stupid play. If someone is hot we need to ride that player until they stop it. BOTTOM LINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, in all fairness, I did see your son being more vocal or passionate (whichever you want to call it) in this game but the team didn't respond. The players should feed off the energy from each other especially on the road, they didn't do that, they got crushed.
Our bigs aren't getting it done, it's painfully obvious. I paid attention on Tim's rebounding effort tonite and frankly, it was't there. Either he wasn't in the position or has already ran down the court looking for his offense, he wasn't even near the basket for most missed shots.

Talk about an embarssing loss. Every team in the WCC played well last night except us. After a turmoil filled week the Waves only lost to St. Mary's by 4 or 5 points. If we keep playing as bad as last night we will win zero games in conference. What a poor showing. Go Lions

This doesn't have anything to do with my son this has to do with the TEAM not playing as a team. Fast Breaks no pass to the open guy but we get an offensive foul, we make a pass to the open man they travel with the ball in transistion. We are not in the right places on offense, I can see a Freshman hitting a the Freshman wall for a game or two but a JR, Heck no. Been in the system 3 years and don't know the plays, heck NO. The BIGs are doing in my opinion NOTHING and I see fear in there eyes, Big John and every other player just walked on them. I don't care if your a Freshman you play with Heart, GUTS and a SOUL. Bigs stop taking 3 ptrs and go get the dang ball on the offensive glass. Quit running to go score earn your points like Dennis Rodman get a rebound/put back. You don't allow your guards to lead your team in Rebounding, take it personal. You have a guy thats hot you go to that guy until they stop it, we stopped it by not getting the ball to the HOT guy and you try to give a quick blow for him and he comes back in and doesn't get the ball. We start going one on one and not running RT's offense. It works if you run the dang play like its drawn up to be run. I'm just pissed. I still havn't calmed down from this one, we were up and we let it go. We better go after Saint Marys like there is no tomorrow.

That's what I've been saying on other threads, we can start winning if we play with heart! There was intensity the first 5 mins of the game then you can sens the energy dying down. My point about lacking a vocal leader is that if we have one, he would have never let that happen. He would be whipping everyone's butt to get them fired up. But before I go on record asking for a vocal leader, I am going to ask every player to step up first. They should play this game with certain level of passion, with or without a vocal leader.
JZ made a bad play on that steal, you don't even need to play in RT's system to know you have to pass out that ball. That was stupidity on JZ's part, but at least he plays defense. Other players don't play D and still want the ball at the other end. That baffles me.

I want to win period hows that LMU alum and I don't think I got any responsibility to anyone. I have my opinion and thats that but to to say it softer I'll just keep it simple. we got to rebound, we got players that are leaders and when someone is hot no matter who it is keep shooting it. I like every player but I as a fan expect everyone to play hard, know the plays and LEAD. You say don't mention players and responsibility but you got post on here that has GRADEs for players. I just want to win, want LMU to win PERIOD!!!!!! I also want to win as a TEAM.

Ok, if Dead is a leader then please fire up this team! Do whatever it takes to fire up his teammates!
I am not happy with the D last night but it's the lack of passion that I am really disappointed at. In my opinion, you can't play D without passion, The defensive intensity has to come from every player for the entire 40 mins of the game. We let one player take "time off", other players will follow suit and all of a sudden we are a bad team. Doesn't matter how hard Shawn and Cory play, as long as one player take "time off" defensively, we have a hole.
I don't even want to mention Marko's name. In fact, none of the bigs. This discussion would get too negative if i have to talk about our big men.

All, I want to win, but lets please not call out players by name if it is a negative comment. I am sure they read this board (along with the coaches) and most are young. Lets keep that in mind. Dead IMO you have a special responsibility to not do this.

I like what deadman says. At least he calls it how he sees it. Why does he have a special responsibility? Is he not allowed to express his feelings or emotions because of the who or why.
Makes no sense to me. Keep saying what your are saying deadman. It appears all you want is for the team to win like we all do and I'm sure entertained by your post.

I am not saying we should do more name calling, in fact we should do less. (included me) If the players or coaches read this board, don't take it personally. We saw what we saw and we didn't like it. It's hard to say something nice when the thought of negativity overwhelms you.
I need a drink.

I still don't get it. It sounds to me like deadman is saying run the coaches offense and know the coaches offense. It doesn't sound like he doesn't like the coaches or players and I still don't understand what special responsibility he has. I like his post they seem to be full of passion and truthful for his or her eyes.
I like fans of the game that want to win. I read names all over the place, articles saying negatives things about players in newspapers and the internet and LMU ALUM your worried about a message board that wants our players, coaches and team to win.
Freedom of speech, keep speaking.

What ALL you on this board are saying is that the TALENT is not there (whether these players have the talent, but are not running the coaches offense...not listening and learning, or simply lack the skill set to do so). THAT is the BOTTOM LINE. Again, a pitiful showing by our coaching staff and the players. Completely embarrassing. We continue to lose. We continue to lack intensity. We continue to get beat down low (Points in the paint-LMU 12,SCU 30). No sign of turning that around. Even in our wins, we are getting beat down low.
Whether it is "lmu", "lmu alum", "alert 2", everyone was throwing stones at my perspective. It is not surprising that such an embarrassing conference loss finally brings out people's honest opinions. And I appreciate that. Never hold back. Bottom Line is the losses keep piling us and little to no improvement is being made.
The time is now. We need everyone's help to reach out to the LMU Administration to make changes. This is ridiculous. We need a change at the helm. There is very limited potential as it relates to this team. RT is not getting it done. The coaching staff has single-handily strapped our program from not getting a new BIG man until 2009-2010 season. The aforementioned has jeopardized our chances to winning. Our guards are decent/good. However, the BIG men absolutely are NOT getting it done. I think this is attributable to their skill set (RT should have known this when recruiting) and their ability to learn and develop from the coaching staff. If I was a guard on this team, I would be PISSED out of my mind. I have been saying this for weeks now....I don't care how great your guard attack/outside shooting exhibition is....we cannot win this way.
Get your letters in to President Lawton. We need change. We need Lawton to reallocate some funds to Men's Basketball to hire a SOLID proven coach. Lawton, release the money to do this. Follow up with your convocation promise.
I know that 95% of you on the board are against my thoughts, but I have a feeling if we wait to voice opinions until later (next season, etc.) it will be too late to make a difference with the decent/good guard talent that we have.
Get on board and make your voice count. Be honest with yourself and the program. Last night is not an isolated incident. The same theme is occurring over and over and over again. Yet the coaching staff does not make adjustments or does not drill it into the team's head. We are becoming the joke of the conference.
RT is a very nice guy, but I don't think he can take us to the next level. He has yet to show the potential. Let's cut our losses. I assume that the AD patience must be wearing thin (AD clearly sees what is going down...he has been at nearly every home game this season)....and if we can put some pressure on Lawton...things probably can change.
You can wait to send your letters until after the season, but that may be too late. While other programs like USF and Pepperdine are looking for coaches, they will have selected one before we even have a chance to start our search. Husak needs to start now behind the scenes.
