Is our big monday game going to be the first WCC game we play! The gu one 1/12. A madhouse. No, the Gonzaga match up is slated for a Saturday (1/12). Unfortunately, it is the Saturday before school is back for Spring session. The dorms open on that Saturday at 1:00PM, but I am afraid that most students will be strolling back to campus on Sunday evening from the winter break. As such, student attendence for this marquee match up will probably be less than satisfactory. I guess the alumni side will have to pick it up. __________________________________________ LIONSPRIDE SIGNATURE How to increase attendance at LMU Basketball Games: 1) Tell someone you know that does not attend games and have them join you; 2) Call the athletic office and ask what they are doing to bring awareness of LMU basketball to the community (let alone its own student population) 3) Donate your tax deductible contribution specifically to LMU Men's Basketball and have it tagged for increased publicity. You got that right alert2. The athletics department better market this one to the students before they leave on break. We need Gersten packed to pull off 2 in row over Gonzaga. What a rush if this young team could pull off the upset to start conference play.
I am on your line of thinking when it comes to marketing LMU basketball (it is aways in my "signature"). The department needs to reach out the the students, faculty, and Westchester/Marina Del Rey/South Bay communities. They need to market the heck out of the soon to be WCC Rookie of the Year--ORLANDO JOHNSON. He will be the player that puts LMU basketball on the map again and we will be dancing in a few years.
ORLANDO JOHNSON and the three other FRESHMAN (Brandon, Tim, and Isaiah) need to be plastered all over the ticket stubs, marketing material, etc. They are the present and cornerstone future of LIONS basketball.

Just noticed that Jaloni Diggs a fmr guard we had on the recruiting radar signed on to UCR earlier this month. We didn't offer and Scout didn't list UCR as a potential suitor.

I think we are being very selective...Rahon, Shamsud-din,Jones, and Cheverton seem to be the main targets right now.
