A win up a P-town would be a real nice follow up to the USF victory. Portland is coming off a heart breaking two point loss to the Santa Clara. Luckily the leading score is a guard, Nik Ravio at 12.8ppg, and the second leading scorer is Sherrard Watson at 10.5 ppg is only 6-6. This bodes well for us we have had our problems guarding bigs. Ito is also a great guard that has given us trouble in the past. They have a huge 6-10 guy named Hannibal. He wasn't that good but what a great name for a post player. If we work together and play great defense and keep turn overs down, I feel good about the game. I hope we have gained some confidence and play with a chip on our shoulder.
I have noticed that the past few games between us and Portland have always been a little feisty.
Let's get his win!
Go Lions.

I have to be extremely honest. I am worried about this game against Portland. We have always struggled against Portland playing in the Chiles Center.
I hope our bigs come out and play and our guards continue to be agressive.
Go Lions!

I think the coach's plan will be like usual. Focus on the paint issues, defense, and turnovers. If we can continue to improve like we did against USF we should win. It won't be easy, we haven't proven consistency yet but now would be the time. This is another good opportunity for a win, very important away game. I think the testiness between these two clubs may be due to the often high sense of desperation coming from one of the teams (or both).
