Since Ameer decided to go elsewhere, below are the potential guards we could go after. There are still some great guys out there.
Ryan Kelley Ht: 6-4 Wt: 190 Position: SG, PG Year: Class of 2008 High School: Diamond Ranch HS (Pomona, CA) Good-looking prospect with size and athleticism. Nice approach to the game and a fairly high skill level. Possible high major prospect.
Bryce SmithHt: 6-3.5 Wt: 185 Position: SG Year: Class of 2008 High School: William Howard Taft HS (Woodland Hills, CA) Excellent shooter with three-point range. Good feel for the game. Likely mid major prospect .
Kelly KaiglerPoint guard San Jose (CA) Oak GroveHt: 6-foot-3 Class: 2008 (High School
Oscar BellfieldHt: 6-1 Wt: 175 Position: PG Year: Class of 2008 AAU Team: LA Stars High School: Westchester Senior HS (Los Angeles, CA) Very athletic slasher who can also shoot to three-point line. Good defender, very active.

So it is back to the grind. There are some very good players still out there. Bellfield and Kaigler are very interesting. Back to work for our coaches.

Bellfield would be a great fit for us. Let's get the coaches and Isaiah over to Westchester campus ASAP!

Maybe we have enough PGs at this point. Quentin Turner, Cory Count, Shawn, Brandon Walker, Chris Kanne. We don't need to use up all the scholarship at once...save this one and fish for better next year. Just a thought.

I see Shawn and Brandon more as SG's. The need for a PG is the fact that Turner is already a JR. Counts had great mintues for us but his is a walk on. Kanne seems like a great guy but don't see him doing much for us.

Sinced I trained him and brought him along I can guarntee Deadwiler is a PG being converted to be a Combo. He is more of a PG than anything.

I agree that Shawn is the most versatile among our current roster to play the point. I wonder if the coaches may give him some time there this year if Quinten or Corey gets into foul trouble. I would actually like to see this. PG may fit him just right.

;D Now we can all get back to celebrating the start of a new season. At the end of MM things were a little chaotic but I was very impressed with Sweezy. I'm thinking that he's going to turn heads this season. I cannot wait to see the lions in action. I think there is a lot more going on that we can see based off of paper.
