This is the best way to move on from the loss to DH. ;D
Irvine is picked to finish in the top half of big west conference, but historically, we do well against UC schools (UCI, UCSB, UCD, save maybe UCLA and Cal) so I am hoping for our first win of the season on the road.
I am going to see to how they do against cal baptist, I expect a close game. Cal Baptist isn't just a walkover.

UCI should be a tough test. We beat them in a close one last season and the remaining returners may be bitter about that. Would love to see some tangible improvement over the exhibition. Hopefully the guys are working hard this week in preperation. btw, I'm happy to have the hoops season back UCI MSG Board: p071.ezboard.com/fbigwestfrm12

I read on their board one of the leading scorers and senior isn't playing. I have a good feeling about the game.

looks like uci just dodged a bullet tonite: 73-71 over cal baptist.
I hope we will have a good showing against irvine in two days.

Crazy games already this season. #8 Michigan state loses to a D2, Ohio state loses to some D2 school called Findlay. The close UCI vs. Cal Baptist gives good news for us.

On their board, they are talking about annihilating us and the fear that their team might "play down" to our level... I guess the win over cal baptist really boost their optimism.

I'm going to make the trip down depending on work. For those of you going, please note that the UCI website lists the game at Crawford Hall...not Brens Event center the main gym. The last time I went down there no one knew where the gym is so I sugguest you get good directions.

Good luck lions. Ironlions, thanks for the reminder about that gym change.

No problem...If you are going, try and get their early. The gym only has a capacity of 1000.
What I hope for tonight.
Our backcourt cut down on turn overs. And Sutton, Deric and Craig to do anything positive. I wonder if Jenkins will be playing...it would be nice to see how he does in his first D1 game.
Go Lions!

I wasn't at the game but looked at the box score. Nice to see Deadwiler step up and our tough rebounding but we've really got to stop the turnovers. Will be interesting to see what gains we can make for the home opener. UCI creamed us in points off turnovers. Could have made the difference between a W and L.

Jenkins still not getting playing time, something might be wrong with him. Until we fix the turnover and the defense we are not going to be a very good team. GP attendance might take a big hit this year.

Jenkins may be redshirting? He would have definitely seen some PT so far, unless he's got a minor injury and will be back soon.
I hope the lions get things together and attendance doesn't flame out. UCI only got 831 people to the game. That is pretty shameful. Would not like to see sub-1000 numbers but we've got to make the games close and fun.
