Here's hoping their surprise is better than the one the Lions laid on us last season!' Their recruits do look solid and Pepperdine will have all their players back, so the WCC should be pretty competitive next season. Dunlap's new guys look impressive - now for that 7 foot center

LMU didn't miss too much not signing the Australian Chiir Maker. He has talent and athleticism, but lacks the game sense and ability to put that into practice. He also rarely matched up on people that could match him athletically, so when he meets others, will be interesting to see. In terms of the Portland coach stating that he was a 'Gonzaga level recruit' he couldn't be further from the truth.

All good coaches talk up their recruits. kind of like how Dunlap rips Payne but talks up a converted football player as the next coming. Reveno does need to put up a good season though. They definitely should be aiming for 20 wins.
Portland and Pepperdine might have the goods to force St. Mary's down to fifth. Gonzaga getting to the Elite 8 tells me that they wont need to bail the conference for more competition. I just want to see a competitive conference. I think BYU's inclusion in the Dance signals that they think the WCC merits an extra bid if it can produce a national contender. The zags and BYU are basically national programs now. There is room for a third.
Let's hope LMU can avoid last place this time. Anything from 7th to 10th is pretty wide open next year.
