Brandon Wade and Wesley seem to be their top scorers.
This is a community college so their oldest players are just sophomores.
This should be a breather for the Lions in their early schedule.

In a parallel universe, perhaps. Not College. University! Not Marauders. Pioneers! Maybe a better team name would be the Fighting Paramedics. www.uavpioneers.com/

Fan blade - I suspect t is disparaging Antelope Valley and taking this game too lightly I will only note that the Marauders recently whipped El Camino-Compton Center 95-93! Beware Lions!

Why would you even schedule this team? And make it the family game ? Might as well make this the scrimmage and Domiguez this game. It's a sad attempt to show a winning team to the alumni and donors . Lame.
That being said, interesting how this college was made. Good for this couple and the guy who made something of himself after pro ball. I should make a university with my wife.
And this is in no way a political post, but couldn't you just open up more private non profit universities that are more affordable and thereby increase the supply of class seats and lower the price?
You would need to create some alternative to WASC.

Really liked what I saw from McClendon. He is a player, and only a freshman!
Hopefully Haney, Herman, etc can carry some of today's success into future games. Confidence is an amazing tool.

In retrospect, this was an OK game for the Lions to schedule. While the outcome should never have been in doubt, the Mauraders played very competitive basketball well into the first half. The Lions learned that they can’t simply walk on a court and assume a win, they actually have to play the game.
Just when I was ready to denounce Haney as a 3-pt artist fraud, he found his game and lo and behold ended up our leading scorer. Maybe a breakthrough game for Haney.
Also perhaps a breakthrough game for Herman – he showed me some moves I did not know he had, including the slam dunk after dribbling all the way down the court. Leading rebounder also with 8. His hands are pretty good with those boards.
Tauch had a solid game all over the court demonstrating his great athleticism.
McClendon continues to impress and as thx noted is a true freshman.
Tutu got some good minutes late and his first Lions basket. He settled down and played better but has some seasoning to go before he is a reliable regular.
The rest of the team played solid basketball with one exception: Jacko continues to demonstrate a lack of ability to keep out of foul trouble. This is really a shame as we need his talents on the court, not on the bench. This may be difficult to coach out of a player but the guys have to give it priority. I’m sure Jacko’s fouling problems are driving Dunlap mad.
A note on the Colorado State game: the Lions learned that they have the talent to beat an NCAA caliber team. They did let the game get away in no small part to lack of minutes out of Jacko and Johnson due to fouls. In addition, the entire team fouls too much. The Rams won the game from the free throw line in my opinion.
Onward to another challenge from Northridge on Thanksgiving eve at Gersten.
Go Lions!
