Whoops, sorry 'bout that ... Anyway, I thought I'd post this a little early to give anybody with any questions a few days before the Shootout starts up here in Anchorage. Anybody coming up? Need some recommendations? The local paper is the Anchorage Daily News ... ( their sports page - www.adn.com/sports/ ). Things are a bit hockey focused right now, so don't bother trying until Sunday when they will start their weeklong coverage. They normally do a pretty comprehensive job at covering it. I would consider you the co-favorites to win it, though you get the tough home-team draw in the first game - beware the 3! tell them to pack an extra scarf (I'm sure they have plenty of those in their wardrobe). And sunglasses. Seriously, I was hoping it would warm up for you guys but it isn't going to get past the mid-TEENS this week and the northerly winds have been a b#&$@ - sub-zero wind chill. Here, at least winters, sun = snow glare and cold weather, beautiful, but cold.
Your first round opponent has been beating up on their warm-up competition. I still marvel at how some of these guys end up at a D. II school. Some are under-sized, some just "old" - one 30 year old I believe - and there are two Aussies on the squad that somehow escaped the attention of the WCC;
Luke Cooper just set the school assist record, four games into his junior year - 372 assists / 62 games = 6. per
others of note;
Eric Draper - outside gunner (23.8)
McCade Olsen - 6'8" (21.7, 8.4 last year at Eastern Wyoming) - has yet to play this year due to a shoulder injury. Listed day-to-day.
I'll check in tomorrow.

I hope the lions have a good showing against a serious Alaska team. The positive exposure on ESPN2 would be great way to kick of the long weekend! ;D |

I will be going to the championship session on Saturday.
Don't have any Lion Wear, so I will have to make due with some Zag stuff in support of our WCC brethren.
