A very intersting site compliments for the Dons board via Pilots board. ope.ed.gov/athletics/search.asp It's a report by the Department of Education on what schools spend on sports... pretty sure it has to due with Title IX compliance, hence it's public record. here are the operating expenses and revenue generated for each WCC basketball program (in order of expenses, and in millions): Gonzaga ($2.14 expense; $3.64 revenue) San Diego ($2.05 expense; $2.63 revenue) San Francisco ($1.79 expense; $1.71 revenue) Loyola Marymount ($1.65 expense, $1.63 revenue) Pepperdine ($1.57 expense; $1.57 revenue) Santa Clara ($1.51 expense; $1.64 revenue) Saint Mary's ($1.38 expense; $1.38 revenue) Portland ($1.28 expense; $1.594 revenue)

I have a feeling St. Mary's will have a increased budget after this season.

I think a lot of WCC fans would think that USF and LMU's programs are struggling the most recently. USD's is the most interesting. They are putting a lot of investment into the team according to that site and getting a shocking amount back. My only guess is that they are doing very well with corporate donations/sponsorships, which really adds to bottom line for these programs.
Also looking at the website LMU has the highest UG enrollment in the WCC and most female student athletes (#2 in male with USD having the edge with 98 just for football).

we are spending more $$ on women's sports than men's. Can't we just cut out the women's sports? @_@ I mean...
I am going to get in so much trouble...

I believe Jenny Craig gives serious money to USD.
