Corey Counts = C+ (steady, rather consistent play, needs to increase court vision) Max Craig = C- (seeing some signs of improvement, footwork and speed are lacking considerably, free throw performance is not half bad for a big guy, but needs further improvement) Shawn Deadwiler = B (definitely the most improved from prior season, confidence has grown considerably and shows signs of being a leader, free throws are solid, I like when he drives the lane) Marko Deric = C- (perform may improve if he received more playing time) Tim Diederichs = C+ (needs to play both sides of the ball, receiving many minutes but not putting up enough numbers for those minutes) Isaiah Jenkins = N/A Orlando Johnson = B (defense, agressiveness, and vision of court could be improved, freethrow need to drastically improve) Chris Kanne = N/A Mason Maynard = C- (performance may improve if he received more playing time, for his limited minutes he seems to be fouling alot) Terron Sutton = C- (board work is adequate, overall focus and feet work need to improve, needs to be more agreessive) Brad Sweezy = C (effort is there, but undersized...no excuses though...needs to battle more) Quentin Turner = D+ (needs more confidence, seeing improvement of late) Brandon Walker = C+ (showing signs of improvement and confidence, needs to increase court vision) Jon Ziri = C+ (his defense and sight for the ball has been great; our "steal" machine; needs to improve the shooting % and provide more leadership)
Tention and Co. - D+

I agree more with the ratings of Lionspride. Counts is a walk on and although he's better that most on this team, he's still only a walk on quality player. At best he is a "C" player. We just don't have anything better. QT was Tention's answer for our need of a good point guard and he has disappointed. Which Coach recruited him? Out of 50 States full of Jr. College players how did we land in Tennessee? All the coaches need better eyes for talent. Next years crop looks good but we said that last year. The coaches get no better than a "D" but its arguable they should get failing grades, an "F", at this point in the season. These players are the coaches team. The coaches presumabley knew what they were recruiting and how they fit the system. Now the coaches all act surprised at how bad we are. Not a good sign of competence. A and B rated coaches would have figured out by now the program that best works with our talent level. They would certainly have returned to the fundamentals, such as positioning, passing, rebounding and free throws. Maybe we can hire one as a consultant.

If I was brutally honest I would have given QT a failing grade. I was SHOT S#iTless when I so how poor he played in the first 4 games. I don't blame him as much as thoses that recruited him. There is handfuls of better juco point guards out there. Our COACHES did not get them. Granted it was a bit late in the recruiting game with the late notice DAMO provided, but we could have gotten better. Our COACHES were SOLD a bag of good from QT coaches. Our coaches did not due enough due diligence on this scholarship give-away. That one definitely shows RT's inability to size up quality. AND it is ANOTHER misstep to start QT at the beginning of the season. NOT ACCEPTABLE and ruined the players confidence for his duration here. This is just two things that shows CHANGES need to be made. (not to mention getting blasted by 30+ to a DII transitioning school).

This is the grade I would give to the players. Frankly, I didn't see that much improvement on Shawn, you can't rate a player by how many minutes he plays but rather how he plays those mins. Shawn's numbers have been better but it has to do with his increased mins.
I give JZ an A and I will stand by that because he has shown the aggresiveness not found in other players. He receives only limited minutes but those mins shine. Like I said, can't judge a player by the mins they play but rather how they play those mins.
