At least now we know we have an AD who will keep Dunlap in a short leash. In Pinterns we trust!

I expect a long bus ride home despite the lack of traffic.

I haven’t seen any screens??? Yes off the ball screens. A lot of on ball but no screens to get people without the ball open.

At least now we know we have an AD who will keep Dunlap in a short leash. In Pinterns we trust! I doubt Pintens dumps Dunlap during the season. He's trying to build fandom and some interest in the program given the attendance plummeting over the past year. Can't do that firing a coach that has a 12-3 record, no matter how deceptive it is. But if Dunlap shows the same that he showed tonight and during most of his tenure, the new AD can definitely sell to the fans that "I want to have a higher standard of success here" even if they scratch out 15-16 wins. This was definitely the shining example of the Dunlap era that Pintens hasn't seen while being at Oregon.

how many shot clock violations are we going to have??!?!?!?!??!!?! Our only guy that can create a shot when the shot clock is winding down is transferring. Dunlap dropped the ball on that one.

Boy this place gets quiet when reality sets in....So typical. Just so it is clear, Pepperdine is not good. As I have said despite the basketball geniuses on this board, the record is/has/ been highly deceptive all year long. If Eli did not play as well as he did, you would have just seen a 30 point loss to a below average Mid Major basketball team. I have not seen a team with so many late shot clock horrible offensive possessions in quite some time and that is a product of way too much ball dominance, lack of screening, lack of ball and player movement and way too much trust and freedom on Quintana. Dunlap has had far more talented players who were not granted a hundredth of the freedom he has granted Quintana to flat out take bad shots and make bad plays and stay on the floor. I am not listing them, hence I will be asked to pay child support.
We are lucky there are some bad to average teams in Conference this year, including uncharacteristically St Mary's and we should get another feel good conference win next time up. Hopefully this team can manufacture 7 more wins in Conference and if it eeked out a `18-19 win season, some hearts will broken here because no way Dunlap gets run if he comes close to 20 wins.

Oh God...Here we go again, Cameron Allen the savior of LMU basketball transfers. Cameron Allen was not the only player on the team who could create his own shot late in the clock because Dunlap (a) Dunlap didn't let him and (B) Dunlap didn't want to see him dribble all over the gym first. You can only have one "guy" like that and that "guy" was named James Batemon, not Cameron Allen. If Allen would have stayed one more year, that guys name very likely would have been named "Allen" because the odds of Dunlap mining Juco Gold again like he did with Batemon, blind luck by the way, is unlikely to occur....
If you talk about how great Cameron Allen was one more time, I am going to start talking about the savior Trevor Manuel again and draw the ire of everyone on the board like I did last year. Hopefully Allen does not end up at a DIII school too. Best of luck to the kid, he is talented (so was Manuel by the way - See I told you)

Cameron Allen wasn’t any good. His dad needs to stop commenting here.
Also hate to tell you “I told you so” but I have warned lions fans to not get too excited early on as I knew this would happen. Poor lmu fans— I have been around them 30 years and always get excited, always get let down. Dunlap isn’t a good coach, this isn’t a good team. I stand by my prediction of 15-17 wins and no better than 6th in conference. Dumb DunFlop!

Can’t even speak on a kid without being there relative or father I guess. And rswan you have every right to rave about Trevor. He was another talented kid that was coached the wrong way.

Just admit you're a relative. I would be absolutely stunned if Cam Allen ever played meaningful minutes for any decent mid major team, let alone high major.
He is no longer a part of the team so stop whining about a guy who is gone. Not sure what you are looking for here???
Will Pintens have the cajones to let Dunlap go, or will he be bamboozled by his good (record) start against a bunch of stiffs.

Coached Hs, college, and even trained guys who were nba all stars at one point. We will see where he ends up. He’s a bad mid major to low major guy. Let’s see where he ends up and how many minutes he gets in. Vineys mom was on here with her 1 sides agenda a few years back and now you. No bueno.

You guys need to get a room and hug it out. Your mutual insecurity is harder to witness than last night's game. Ah yes, the game. Really disappointing. Batemon and Markusson really struggled to get anything going. For now, I am going to chalk it up as "one of those nights" and credit the Waves for their excellent D and game plan. Quintana has to shoot better but I don't mind his aggressive moves to break down the defense. We have to have some dribble penetration from someone other than Batemon to keep defenses honest. Bright spots: Eli and Daemane both played really well on offense. They had some breakdowns defensively but that is going to happen with young players. Dunlap has to let them play through their mistakes (big ask I know). Finally, I am looking forward to McClendon to return to full strength. So much of what he does is with his physicality and tenacity. Clearly, he hasn't gotten back to 100%. WCC play is going to be an absolute bloodbath. Lions have to take care of business with Portland at home and let the chips fall where they may against St. Mary's next week.

The thing that discourages me the most is that there were no adjustments. Pepperdine was stuck to us, we could not receive the ball without being 10-15 feet from the Three point line. When this happens, we need to screen guys open so when the get the ball they can be closer to the basket. We need more movement without the ball. Lots of moving around and trying to do 2 on 2 pick and rolls. It really only works if you have a big man who can hit the elbow jumper. Markussen should not be making those screen.
