Here is the skinny on Taiz from Stanford beat writer when he entered the portal: Stanford sophomore guard Noah Taitz has entered the transfer portal. Taitz averaged 4.5 points and 1.6 rebounds in 14.2 minutes per game this past season on 37.9% shooting from the field, 43.2% shooting from 3-point range, and 50.0% shooting from the foul line. Taitz played in 14 games before going down with a leg injury in the middle of January that ended up ending his season. Assuming Taitz is gone, Stanford is losing a guard who has the ability to stretch the floor and knock down shots from the perimeter as well as provide sound defense. Stanford could have used Taitz and his shooting down the stretch of the season.
Taitz came to Stanford as a 2020 3-star shooting guard out of Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. He chose Stanford over the likes of BYU, Saint Mary’s, San Diego State, USC, and Washington.
I like the pickup. Aside from Lamaj, our guards were on the small side last year. With the addition of Sniper and Noah, we gain size and shooting in the backcourt.

Let’s hope we can get Chol back in the mix too! Still keeping my opinions until we see something on the court, but sounds like we are getting better???

More shooting is always nice! Like to see some more size coming in though, feels like the roster is 80% combo guards right now. Hopefully soon!

I too will wait til I see him on the court, but he seems to have some positives. Coach Stan seems to be trying to find some shooters. Let’s hope they work out.
Now, he REALLY NEEDS to find some bigs. We have to add interior presence. I’ve lost track of where we are with available scholarships, but whatever the number is they need to be inside guys.

Pure shooters, yes I like it Stan! And yes, now we need a couple bigs!

Seems to enough enough athleticism where he can drive to the basket and play solid defense as well - hopefully we can help replace Quintana. Still need more shooters and some legit bigs, but solid start to recruiting so far.

Impressive high school tape - he handles the ball well and drives the lane well. Hope he doesn't turn out to be another Pugh, who also came from Stanford with high credentials in his background but was hampered by injury in his year at LMU.
I believe we have three scholarships still available.

“Gonzaga duo headed for the NBA draft. Gonzaga stars Chet Holmgren and Andrew Nembhard announced that they will enter the NBA draft. Holmgren, a third team aP All-American, is expected to be a top five pick, while Nembhard is projected as a likely second-rounder.”
Who thinks Holmgren, with his slight build, will thrive in the NBA? I recall Adam Morrison being a bust after a stellar college career - will Holmgren follow or will he succeed?

He’s obviously got talent but there isn’t much body mass. I can’t blame the guy for going after the big bucks but I’m skeptical
