Welp, WCC Tourney odds to win are out and our Lions are not getting much respect despite being a 4 seed and benefiting from a double bye. Looks like odds makers think BYU will win their first game over (Portland or USD) then play us and beat us. There's no doubt they will WAY more fans in the stands when they play us (or anyone except Zags) but, if they do play us, they will be playing for the 2nd night in a row while we will be fresh. I say bring them on. Thoughts?

This is surprising, BYU probably shouldn't be ahead of us or USF, and definitely not tied with Santa Clara. Also, Shelton is 16 points away from 2,000 career points in college, hopefully he can get that accomplishment in an LMU win next game.

Sorry, but as much as I root for LMU, I’ve got to agree with the oddsmakers. I think the Zags are currently playing better than St Mary’s, so I would flip their odds. Then Santa Clara, BYU and San Francisco (in that order) all have more offensive weapons at their disposal than LMU. Those teams have now all played us at least once and have loads of game film. Shelton has been tremendous this year and I think he should be WCC POY (but I expect Timme to get it). But he’s not enough at this time of the year. Where does he find help? You know teams will smother Leaupepe. I don’t know if Ahrens can play but he’s disappointed far more often than he has helped. Lewis is out. Sniper needs far more help getting his shot than Coach seems to be willing to give him. There just aren’t many options. Yes, LMU could beat any of these teams on a given night but if I have to put money on someone, it’ll be one of the aforementioned teams.
And, yes, I hope I’m dead wrong.

Head to Head aggregate, they lose to everyone above them on this list too. Throw in the crowd factor and BYU That being said, they’re a dangerous team and nobody is asking to play LMU. I think we have a squad that can get into the semis. I’d love to see BYU out, we revenge on San Diego (for 2012) then Santa Clara shocks the Zags and we upset Saint Mary’s again. Is that a lot to ask for? |

Trailing at the half, BYU scored 52 points s in the second half to win over Portland and will meet LMU Saturday evening in the quarter finals. The winner will face Saint Mary’s Monday in the semi- finals.

Santa Clara had a massive season and bowed out after one game. What’s their fan reaction like over there? Are they bringing out pitch forks for Herb Sendek? Or are they content with the NIT?
As far as postseason play, do we still have a shot at the CIT? Or will the NIT take SCU and the CIT takes BYU?
Are we looking at the CBI and playing Antoine Davis as he passes Pistol Pete for $50K?
