Can’t be too disappointed with that effort.
We didn’t play poorly, I just wish we had another game or two for us to tune up before playing what will likely be a tourney bound team in Yale.
Won’t be a bad loss but could have been an early season quality win for the resume if we figured out the best combinations, etc.
Really impressed with both Dom and Lars. We need to find a way to make both of them a big focus on offense because they are major assets.
I think this is the most talented LMU team I’ve seen top to bottom.
Excited to see how they develop through the year.

I missed the game so can’t comment on game specifics. But I do have a few thoughts… 1. As 90045 noted, Lamaj has not played up to the potential we saw in his freshman year. Injuries have hampered him but he simply hasn’t developed. On a positive note for the team, even with injuries and some sub-par performances last year, he was still probably the most athletic guy on the team. This year, with the possible exception of Ristic because we haven’t seen him play, Lewis looks like he may be the least athletic player on the team. If I’m right, that speaks loads to the overall upgrade Coach has engineered this year.
2. From the box score it looks like the offense did its job. They scored enough points to win and those points were well distributed. But it looks like Coach needs to put sone attention to defense. As I commented about the Westcliff game, our penetration defense was poor. And that was against an NAIA team. Defense is anticipation and effort. Coach needs to instill both with his players.
3. Harris can definitely play ball. I remember watching the Zags last year and wondering why Harris was getting so few minutes when I thought he was better than some of their other players. It wasn’t until after the season that learned he and his Dad got sideways with Coach Few. I felt he was a great addition to the Lions. Then in the first half of the Westcliff game he was terrible. Fortunately his second half performance was much better. Yesterday he was our leading scorer. That doesn’t surprise me. I do think that both he and Coach need some time to figure out exactly how to use his talents to best advantage while not diminishing the contributions that his talented teammates can also make. If we want to be successful, we need a balanced attack.
4. I really like Lars in the post. It’s not often a mid major gets the luxury of a true “5” that can impact games.
5. It’s too bad we couldn’t have scheduled Yale just a bit deeper in the schedule. With our mediocre OOC schedule, we needed a win yesterday.
Now, in to Tuesday!!

Yale survived a nail biter in overtime to Gardner-Webb who was 2-3 entering the game. Two Gardner-Webb losses were to top 20 teams - Arkansas and Baylor.

Yale upset Auburn in an exciting game. Yale must have the coolest coach in the NCAA - he always seems calm. Go Bulldogs!
