This is a long shot, but does anyone know of anyone going to the game against WVU? I worked in the athletic dept at LMU years ago, but live in North Carolina now, and am contemplating making the drive up to WVU, but would love if I knew of any other LMU people that might be there.

I'd contact AD Craig Pintens. He would likely know some folks making the trip.

Final 4 is in Louisville but next game is at West Virginia who hosts as the #5 seed.
I was at the game on Saturday. Electric crowd and I do remember some of the family members who were openly talking on the bleacher steps next to us that they were making the trip. I doubt you’d be the only Lions fan there. JMU had a few fans themselves.
Pretty cool story! I hope LMU makes an investment into their soccer program as they match the basketball team’s final 8 of yesteryear. I’m interested to see how Pintens follows this up.
Regarding JMU, it’s interesting how they have a top 25 basketball team, top 25 D1 football team now and their soccer team went far. How did they go from small time sports to national programs??

Fingers crossed I have to make a decision on going to Louisville also in a weeks time...
As for JMU, I'm sure there are some other reasons, but largely, money talks. I work at Appalachian State now which is in the Sun Belt with JMU. When JMU joined the Sun Belt two years ago, they immediately had the largest budget in the league, and its not particularly close. I think their budget is something like 10 mil higher than the next best in the league. Something like 70% of their budget comes from student fees. Will be interested to see how sustainable that is. They've also put a ton of money in upgrading/ building new facilities in the last few years.

Talked to Craig Pintens tonight at the bball game and he is flying out Friday. You should definitely go if you have the opportunity. Craig loves meeting alumni all over.

Thanks all. I ended up getting in touch with Craig Pintens and Thad Satre, who is the soccer sport supervisor, and they helped me out. Hopefully I get to see the boys make some more history.

Aside from the first goal and a couple moments of individual brilliance, we've had a hard time creating chances or even sustained pressure.
