Forward Edward Del Cadia (6’8” 240 SR) provides scoring inside. They lost several games by close scores, notably including Ole Miss (70-69) - the Rebels are 10-0. International rosters are becoming the norm and the Titans have players from Italy, Croatia, Canada, Australia and France. Based on the Lions’ inconsistent play, no game is a given and the Titans’ record should not be viewed lightly. Unless the Lions play becomes more consistent, this could be a close contest or even a loss - the Titans certainly will be hungry for a win. Gametime: Monday, Dec 18, 7pm in Gersten. Video: ESPN+.

With the evolving two time transfer rule change; it’s going to be interesting to see if Detroit plays Alex Tchikou. Was a 4 star recruit coming out of high school, played at Alabama and Rhode Island.

It’s probably a fitting comment on the season to date that the Lions had a game tonight and the board has one comment. Coach Stan is pleading for enthusiastic support but he’s got to provide both a compelling schedule and a team that looks like it can play respectable ball. Given what we’ve seen so far this year, it’s hard to blame fans for their lack of enthusiasm.
I didn’t see or hear the game. I can only go by what I see in the box score and a quick scan of the play-by-play.
Hill did not play. Injury?
Coach mixed up the starting lineup. He kept Kelli on the bench and put Alex in the 4-spot. That’s probably the right thing to do. While Kelli is a much better player, Alex is out-playing him this year. In fact, Alex is about the only player on the team that I can commend for his play this season.
Rick started ahead of Lars, and showed fairly well with 6 points and 7 boards. It looks like Lars had limited playing time from what I could glean from the play-by-play, but didn’t see the “minutes played” stats.
Lamaj got the start … and did basically nothing with it as far as I can tell. His stat line was mostly zeroes.
Johnston got the start and also took little advantage. If I’m coach I would bench the guy, tell him to spend a lot more time practicing his shooting, and get back to me when he’s ready to make a contribution as a 2-guard.
Wright looks like he had a strong game. He was leading scorer and his name appeared consistently in the play-by-play. I still think he should be given the ball as our 1-guard.
Most of Detroit’s second half offense came from the free throw line. Not sure why the Lions were fouling so much.
The game margin was consistently 10-11 points. The Lions stretched it to 20 in the waning moments of the game to make it look like a blow-out. While never really close, the Lions let Detroit stay closer than they should’ve.
Sure hope some magic happens before Friday.

Same as above, also couldnt watch the game but two things stood out from the box score:
1. Coach switching things up, desperate to try to get something going/get the team playing with more energy and intensity 1. Graham at 11 rebounds in 14 minutes - this is how you get more playing time

The guy really plays hard.

Good job deciphering the box score from both of you, I was able to watch the game here’s a few talking points.
The game on Saturday was abysmal and I think Stan was trying to send a message with the starting lineup.
Johnston picked up three fouls in six minutes in the first half and was never in the flow of the game. He was given the start but it wasn’t his night.
Graham did play well, a lot of that came late in the game and really helped us pull away at the end.
Our guards kept trying to go over the top of their picks, even though they were driving every single time, so I’m not sure why we weren’t going under the picks. To me that was where a lot of the fouls were happening.
We missed a ton of lay ups in the first half, without exaggeration we must’ve missed 8-10 lay ups.
Keli looked more like himself. Great to see.
Hill is injured, he injured his hand on Saturday. Looks like he’ll be out multiple games, thankfully Wright did a good job tonight.
One frustrating point was Harris hit two three-pointers to begin the second half but then only scored 2 points the rest of the game, and I think I only took three shots in the last 19 minutes. It’s as if he was a decoy more than riding a hot hand. He finished with 18 points, but it really looked like he was well on his way to another 30-point game, need to figure out a way to keep him involved.
We led wire to wire but it was not a dominant performance, against a winless team whose leading scorer hurt his ankle five minutes into the game. Definitely need to play better against the 16th ranked Colorado State Rams on Friday. Hopefully we will.
Go Lions!

Didn’t get to look at the box score, only saw the game in person….
Dominic Harris definitely put his stamp on that one for 3/4 of the game. What a talent. Hopefully he wants to stay after the season. He attacked the bucket over and over.
Alex M also played very assertively. Shot well early on, and was grabbing plenty of boards. Keli played very physically and that was a big plus. Graham was a beast on those boards in the 2nd half, really a boon to our run down the stretch.
I liked when Coach went in to a zone on defense later in the first half. Really forced Detroit Mercy in to some awkward situations.
Disappointed in Johnston and Lars tonight. They just didn’t have it. Hopefully they can figure it out.
Not going to nitpick this team any deeper…they led wire to wire and kept the opponent at bay the entire time, as a solid fighter should against a lesser opponent.
Bring on CSU

I watched the game last night and agree it was not a good performance. We won by 20 but they were in it till the last 5 minutes.
Lars and Johnston look like they shouldn’t be on the floor at all right now. Johnston can’t shoot and Lars can’t catch.
Keli finally showed up and wright played fairly well.
Harris should see the ball every time down. He and Alex are our best players.
I hope we shorten the rotation against csu we should play them both as much as they can handle.
We also don’t seem to have a good flow on offense just seems to be a lot of one on one and we made maybe 3 buzzer beaters with no real offensive rhythm.
I would like to see taitz more i think he should get a shot over Johnston and lamaj.
