As we enter conference play I wanted to look at the NET rankings to see where we align. There are 362 teams and we are 188, so essentially in the middle. We have one victory against a team above us, UNLV 115, and one loss against a team below us, UCSB 190. So we are winning the games we should win and losing the games we are expected to lose. Colorado State 15, and Nevada 35 are very good teams. Our other losses are to Yale 110, Oakland 117, Tarleton State 150, and SFA 152. As mentioned our best win was against UNLV 115. We also defeated Westcliff which isn’t a D1 team. Our other five victories are against teams in the bottom third of the country… UTEP 240, Jackson State 252, FIU 289, Central Arkansas 352 and Detroit Mercy 358. So we have played eight games against competitive teams and only won once, against UNLV. This weekend Santa Clara is ranked 118, right next to Oakland and just below UNLV and Yale, and St. Mary’s is 53rd. I hope we turn the corner this weekend but the non-conference was clearly underwhelming. www.ncaa.com/rankings/basketball-men/d1/ncaa-mens-basketball-net-rankings

It's a new season! Going to be difficult without Hill for the first half of conference play, but hopefully we can start strong.

Hill is a decent player but I don’t see him as a difference maker. I think he’s interchangeable with Wright, with Wright offering a bit more versatility. What we can ALL agree on is that the team is performing well under both potential and expectations.

I agree Hill has not contributed. He's just like Cam was his first season, bad. So we are NOT missing Hill, we're missing discipline and effective Xs and Os.
