The Tigers somehow beat Cal early in their schedule and Mississippi Valley State (OT) but their other 4 wins are unimpressive. They have lost to some decent teams though. In fairness, they did take USF to overtime before succumbing.
Their roster shows 12 guards so the Lions should have a size advantage. The Tigers shoot 42.6% overall but average only 66.8 ppg. I expect the Lions to be favored in this home game. Personally, I am optimistic about the Lions after last weeks game but you never know which players will show up on any given evening - would like to see them all come together for once.

Yes, McBride had a cast on his hand. Good news was Hill no longer has a cast on his hand and Jesse mentioned that he warmed up with the team prior to the game. Rick was dressed but never played.

Nice to get that first conference win! Alex has been flirting with that double-double all month of December, glad to see him finally get over the hump. Curious why Rick didn’t see any time on the court this game. I know it’s been said but Lars must be doing something in practice because on game days I’m just not seeing how he can warrant the minutes he’s getting. With all the transfers it obviously takes time for players to adjust. But this is the first game I noticed not just on the court but their body language off the court it seemed Wright and Harris are really gelling and that was fun to watch. Tough one next up away at USF.

Glad to see SOMEONE has something to say! I don’t get what’s going on with Lars. The first few games he was producing decently and his stat line pretty much lined up with what he did last year at Cal. But over the last month he’s done very little.

Wright, on the other hand, is getting better. I said at the beginning of the season that I thought Wright had the ability to be the team leader. He seems to be slowly growing into that role. Good thing because the team REALLY needs him.

I really wish CSJ would worry about winning basketball games rather than about “social justice” issues and reflecting on MLK today on Twitter.

I am just as grateful for how far society has progressed as the next guy over the past 50 years and I think we all agree there is always work to do, but maybe we’d be a better program without CSJ playing politics? Just a thought.

I thought the Lions still looked confused, inefficient, and lacked real strategy even if we did beat Pacific. Our players individually were just better annd more talented. Our basketball, coaching, and rotations were not superior at all. Let me emphasize that Pacific is a bad team and a win shouldn’t be celebrated. It should be expected.

I unfortunately couldn't watch this one - one thing the box score says that nobody has commented on yet is that we absolutely dominated the boards. I assume that means the energy and effort was there as we had 15 Oboards to their 17 Dboards (so basically a 50/50 chance and rebounding our own missed shots) while they only had 6 Oboards to our 31 Dboards.
