Still need a good x’ sand o’s guy but I’d be lying if I wasn’t excited to see what a Stan and Lorenzo do on the recruiting trail.
The worst thing is complacency, failing and not realize you to make changes.
Last season sucked. But I’m happy the program clearly is showing they aren’t sitting on their hands and just hoping next year will go better. Another example school and program are committed to wanting success.

That’s good news Will big man Porter and others join the Lions. Personally, I think Lewis is expendable. And could open up a valuable roster slot. Next season might be exciting.

I am cautiously optimistic here. Romar is still a big name in college basketball which I think further solidifies the LMU basketball program from where we've been the last couple decades. Still would love a pure Xs & Os coach that doesn't care a lick about recruiting as we now have two strong recruiters in Stan and Romar.
Would love if we could snag Houston Mallette - "“I trust Coach Romar and I connect with him on a deep level. I trust him and the coaching staff and we have built a great relationship. I love every aspect of what the University has to offer and feel I can grow as a person as well as a student-athlete at Pepperdine.”"
And Michael Ajayi who "Chose Pepperdine becuase of "Coach Romar, the destination, weather and teammates."
Sounds like they'd be right at home here.

Porter is a Freshman and is on the WCC all freshmen team. His two older brothers are both in the NBA.

Coach Greg Youncofski appears to be the one let go; LMU has been removed from his social media handle. Wishing him the best!

Never would’ve imagined this a few weeks ago, but now that we’re here I am very intrigued to see what type of roster CSJ and Romar can put together for the fall.
I know we are doubling up on strengths, and as mentioned before we need an X’s & O’s type of coach in the mix as well, but there is an old saying that goes, “it’s not about the X’s & O’s, it’s about the Jackies and Joes.”
Go Lions!

Romar is definitely the most high profile coach to be on our coaching staff since Westhead.

Nice article - thanks for posting. We'll need to see how the Johnson-Romar team works together.

It would be nice if some of his top players love Romar enough to join him at LMU! The article about Romar puts him in an entirely new light in my mind - one I really like!

There’s a lot of adoration expressed there. Coach should be a magnet. I never doubted his affection for his players. I think his problem was that he didn’t demand on court perfection and discipline from his players. There was way too much “cowboy” play. Coach Stan doesn’t seem to know his Xs and Os, but he does get disciplined and hard working play out of his guys. Hopefully Romar and Johnston can find the right combination to make things work. They certainly have a lot of open roster spots to work with.
