A programming note, USD lost to Bakersfield by 8 at home. We may have had our asses handed to us in the sticks but lets not go crazy. We are rebuilding, the guys are young players but also young men. LMU will NOT scratch or lose out.

After watching how CSUB played USD I feel CSUB is a pretty good team. They were visibly better than USD, better ball movement, solid defense and playing with a sense of purpose.
Still, it doesn't make it ok for us to lose 30+ points to them.

I don't know how a team goes from beating Kentucky at Rupt then losing to CSUB.

I heard there are some defections from the team too. Strange things happening down south. Did Tention give his card to Rob Jones.

BOARD, don't settle for RATIONALIZING our program. Get the facts STRAIGHT. USD lost by 8 and their leading scorer, Brandon Johnson, did not play in the game. USD has 6 wins (1 against Kentucy). They have a 1st year coach who is carrying forth with another coach's talent.
We are 3-13, have a 3rd year coach with ALL HIS PLAYERS, ALL PLAYERS HEATHLY for the most part, and got washed up by 34 against Bakersfield. YOU ARE COMPARING APPLES TO ORANGES.
If you need to get a clue, then buy a vowel and go on Wheel of Fortune. We are NOT OVER REACTING. Things need to be done.
Get writing to Lawton and stop trying to RATIONALIZE our problem. Denial is not the first step to recovery. Acknowledge it and do something about it.
P.S. "lmu" - CalState Bakersfield is 5-13. 5-13 is not a "pretty good team." Wake up "lmu"; you must be drunk to think that

No, I saw the game, they played the game the right way. Regardless of the record, they were a good team against USD.
Have you watched the actual game they played USD or LMU? I normally don't talk much about a game I didn't watch. My comments were limited for the CSUB game because I didn't watch it. Listening or live stats don't count, you need to watch the game.
If you arrived at a different opinion AFTER WATCHING the game against USD, then I will respect your opinion, but you can't refute my opinion when you didn't watch the game at all.

The SCOREBOARD does not lie:
Cal State Bakersfield 98, LMU 64.
See it live, watch, breath it, listen to it.....the pounding and the loss they gave to us does not change.
Please don't bring up other extraneous approaches to divert the attention away from the facts.

You are trying to argue against someone who actually watched the game, you know what? You will never win this argument. Not in a million years...
Remember I am not saying the scoreboard lies, I am simply saying CSUB is a pretty good team, if anything, the scoreboard should confirm what I said.
Watching the game is an extraneous approaches? What are you smoking now?

Don't justify LMU losing to CalState Bakersfield in the fashion they did by bringing up that they are a "pretty good team." A pretty good team does not equate to a 5-13 record on the season. Sure they may have played well enough to win USD on one night during the year (with USD without its top scorer and leader).
W/L records don't lie. Playing well enough to win one game does not make you a "pretty good team." Our lions could pull one out this Saturday against a quality opponent (and I hope they do....I will be cheering them on IN THE STANDS), but that does not make them a "pretty good team." A pretty good team is one that is consistent and a wins more games than they lose (given that they are playing similar level of opponents throughout the season....I have to spell this one out because some guy will come back and be sarcastic and say winning more games than you lose doesn't mean anything if the lions play all DII teams throughout the year).

Yeah, and it's not going to help matters that I doubt that the band will be there on Saturday. The problem with me now being an alumni member is that I don't really have the say or time to coordinate everything, and there's going to need to be some restructuring over there to have a band consistently showing up. Eh, just another drop in the bucket that is this season's campaign. It's a damn shame that I've graduated. Rodney could have used another seven footer on the bench.

who is trying to justify the blowout loss to CSUB? I gave CSUB its due prop by saying it is a good team but I did said this " Still, it doesn't make it ok for us to lose 30+ points to them." I am the least likely guy on this board to find excuse for a loss. You can read all my previous comments, 300+ of them.
You know what? I hate to argue for CSUB's sake but if you even pay attention to CSUB's record, you can see that 4 of their 5 wins were from the last 6 games, that's an upward trend and that's a sign of a team getting better. When a team play solid defense, pass the ball, play with right attitude, that is a good team. Period.
And can you lay off the "record don't lies" crap? I never said the record lies but CSUB is a pretty good team and I want to insist that. I saw them played twice and both time I came away impressed. This is exactly the same comment the USD announcer was making...he said he was impressed how CSUB played UC Davis (he has adaughter attending UCD) and he knew USD would be in trouble playing this CSUB team. You need to watch the game, please! You are sounding ridiculous now.

LMUpepbander:
Make some calls. We need all the help we can get. I sure hope the guy with cow bell is in attendance. Maybe he could dress up in a POPE costume (and having him eat an LMU hotdog) instead of his superman outfit to at least prove alert2 wrong with something as us beating the Zags is a far stretch.
GO LIONS!

If CalState Bakersfield is such a "pretty good team", then HUSAK should have dinner with Keith Brown and you would have your "pretty good coach" too, right lmu? Get it straight, a "pretty good team" should not be attached to CalState Bakersfield this year. Don't be influenced by a USD announcers view. Obviously he is going to play it up when his team is losing to a DII school. Don't be naive.

No, the USD announcer was much harder on his team, something i don't hear much from LMU network.
I did said I watched the game, didn't I? I didn't just listen, I watched. It just so happened that his view coincides with mine and I used his comment to emphasize my point. How can you argue that? Are you being pathetic now?
Why a "pretty good team" shouldn't be attached to CSUB? Like I said, if a team play the game the right way then they are a good team. What's there to be confused about? It's not about the name of the school or even the division, it's about how a team play the game. Do you get that?
