Great news! Looks really skinny, but the kids has hops. Probably more of a slasher, or a smaller Lamarcus Aldridge type of kid. Add him to my projected starting lineup, remove Sutton..
Curious.... any new news on Dubois and if he is going to play for LMU next year? And what about the kid from Sylmar class of 09. Is he still considering?

3 star Power Forward on rivals. Awesome Sound about exactly what we needed for this year an athletic big man. He may be a little raw, but hopefully after a year of experience he will be ready to shine along with the rest of the Lions in 09-10.
Go Lions

Here is a run down of Young from ESPN:
Young is an extremely athletic prospect who is somewhat of a tweener (has no real position) at this point of his career. He isn't bulky enough to bang inside or skilled enough to play the wing. However, Young is a "stat-stuffer" who plays hard all the time. He plays with relentless energy and is always around the ball. He is a bouncy athlete and has very quick feet. He possesses a lengthy frame and gets most of his points off of slashing to the basket and athletic tip-ins and/or dunks. His jump shot is erratic and needs to be refined for opponents to respect it. His handle is decent, but needs to polish up his left hand as he has a tendency to favor driving right. If Young smoothens out his perimeter skills and develops a better feel (plays fast) for the game, he could be a nice prospect for possibly the Big West.
Not sure when this written before him "blowing up" on the recruiting scene.
Regarding Dubois I'm pretty sure he will be join the Lions next year. I have seen him a few times on campus and haven't read of him going anywhere else. Its frustrating because LMU can make a announcement.
Not sure if Rudd is still in the mix.

I know it is a highlight reel but damn that is impressive. Thanks for the heads up guys. This looks like a classic Bayno project and he should still be able to contribute right away. Welcome to LMU!

So basiclly he choose LMU over the ACC,Big 12,Pac 10 and SEC Nice find on the highlight reel Lionspride. Go Lions Exactly what I was thinking. Appears to be the first recruit that we've stolen from the major conferences. Arguably, this'll be our biggest get, since when players start to head our way instead of to the BCS, the recruiting pipeline shall start flowing.

What concerns me is his play against Fairfax High... 6 Points. Hopefully he'll play better in big games when he's a Lion.

From Goodman at Fox sports:
BAYNO CONTINUES TO STOCKPILE TALENT
New Loyola Marymount head coach Bill Bayno added yet another piece this week when Perris High (Calif.) forward Kevin Young enrolled in school.
Young was set to go to prep school, but he is a last-minute qualifier and opted to stay close to home and play for Bayno – where he could be an impact guy immediately.

My understanding is that this kid is a mega-steal for LMU. More than those schools listed were interested in Young. Should come in and make a major impact. Severely under-rated from what I've been told.

I agree with rebelfan, this young man was severely under - rated and glad we got him. Breath new life into our team and move us forward to the Pac 10 by next year.
