Excellent news! I'm glad to finally see it in writing. Welcome Jarred and the Dubois family to LMU! ;D
From Preps:
Jared Dubois, 6-2 SR PG/SG Los Angeles (Calif.) Westchester, has committed to Loyola Marymount. "It really came down to San Diego and Loyola," said Dubois. "Coach Grier is a great guy and a great coach -- I really enjoyed getting to know him. But I felt very comfortable with everyone at Loyola, from the Director of Operations (Gabe Carter) to the Head Coach. In particular, I was really impressed with Coach Scholl. He's done a lot of things outside of basketball, including AIDS prevention in South Africa, that really impressed me."
Dubois went on to say, "I'm also really comfortable with the players. They have a great group of guys. I plaed with LaRon (Armstead) in AAU ball and Isaiah (Jenkins) was on my high school team."
Dubois was originally slated to go to SMU, but he had a change of heart and opened up his recruitment. Fresno State and Colorado
From Hoopmasters:
Bill Bayno and his Loyola Marymount staff have added a solid combo from Los Angeles in Jarred Dubois...
According to a source close to the program, the Loyola Marymount Lions have picked up a commitment from 6-2 Jarred Dubois from Los Angeles, CA Westchester.
The former SMU commit re-opened his recruitment recently and took a hard look at San Diego as well as Loyola Marymount before picking the Lions.
He is a quick ballhandling guard who can finish drive in traffic or kick it to open man on the wing. He is a solid outside shooter who can keep defense honest with jumper, especially of the dribble. He should make a solid impact once he arrives on campus at LMU.

Question Do we know yet if Jarred is going to be eligible to play this season or is he going to have to sit out a year?

He will be able to play right away. Andy Katz blog from today sums it up nicely.
Loyola Marymount has added former SMU signee Jarred Dubois for this season one day after adding forward Kevin Young, also for the upcoming season. Dubois is a 6-2 point guard from Westchester High in Los Angeles and coach Bill Bayno's staff said they expect Dubois to come in and challenge immediately for starter's minutes.
