As the Vinson drama unfolds lets not neglect some other talented players also on our radar. Like Keegan Hornbuckle 6-6 small forward. I saw him play at the pump tournament and was very impressed.
Watched his highlight reel on Scout. Very nice shoot with range. Also is quite athletic and has nice ups.
Here is a recent story from Rivals.
Shortly after receiving an offer from Arizona, 6-foot-6, 190-pound Los Angeles Campbell Hall small forward Keegan Hornbuckle officially visited the UA, a trip that started Sunday and ended Monday.
Keegan Hornbuckle is almost ready to make a decision.
Hornbuckle told GOAZCATS.com that he enjoyed his visit.
"It was good; I hung out with the coaches a lot," Hornbuckle said. "I think it exceeded my expectations. I always thought it was a high-major school, but when I got there I could just tell that it was one of the top schools."
Heading into the visit, there was one thing in particular that Hornbuckle wanted to find out about the UA coaches, and he says he was satisfied with what he was told.
"I think one of the main concerns was if I could play right away and they pretty much said that if I get better from here until next school year and make those improvements then I would be able to play in their system and that I fit in well there," he said.
Now that Hornbuckle is back from Tucson, it doesn't appear that a decision is far away.
"I think I'm probably done with my visits," he said. "I have it narrowed down to probably six or seven schools and I'll probably just think about it some more, sleep on it for a couple of nights and make my decision soon."
The six schools that Hornbuckle named were Arizona, LMU, Colorado, Nevada, Michigan and Penn. He was originally supposed to officially visit ASU this weekend, but ultimately decided not to go when the Sun Devils didn't offer him a scholarship.
On top of his trip to Arizona, Hornbuckle has visited three of the other schools on his list.
"I've been to LMU since it's right near me and I went to Penn's elite camp," he said. "I also took an unofficial to Colorado before the school year."
Hornbuckle says that he has "no clue" who he would choose as of today, but does know what he'll be looking for.
"Whatever school, coaching staff and team I felt most comfortable with and felt the best connection with," Hornbuckle said. "Whatever school I could see myself being 100% happy with."
The recruiting process is wearing thin on Hornbuckle, who is almost ready to choose his college.
"I think I'm just kind of done with the process," he said. "I have a lot of information on the schools I'm looking at. I'm kind of tired of all the recruiting so I just want to make my decision and get it over with. I'll decide either this week or next week, I'm hoping."
