agreed halftime. You can never have enough quality big men. The more the better. Another inside, back to the basket scorer would be nice.

is there room for 1 more? scout.com says Victor Rudd still has high interest in us. Having reffed his games a few times, I'd love for him to come aboard as well... Welcome kdub00 .

This roster is it for now. Sweezy has surprised the coaches and other players with his intensity and drive. He consistently led in the the pickup stats averaging about 11 rebounds and double digit scoring. He may share starting time and will definitely come off the bench when Bayno needs to increase the intensity. He's a lion for good. Deitrich is considered by the coaches as good as any Bayno recruit so far. He has put on 15 pounds and is quickly learning under the copaches how to best play his position. If he stays healthy He'll be a starter for the next 3 years. Sutton has improved. Of the the three, he's still the biggest question. He has tremendous upside, but still needs to gain intensity and agressiveness. Nice guy but maybe too nice. I think he'll do it. We'll see.
None of this means that someone will not fall out opening up a scholarship. But as we all now know, It'll just get filled with a better player.

I will be bold (not in my eyes, but in waterboy's mind) and predict that Tim Diederichs will not be a starter in the 2009/2010 or 2010/2011 season. Look at Diederichs stats from last year....absolutely pitaful when you consider how many minutes that guy logged in an average game and the amount of rebounds he pulled down. What is even more scary is what is not in the stat sheets. He was getting crushed by most opponents with his non-existent defense. He was sucking a lot of wind and was getting blow past by the opponents. I hope that Timmy went to rebounding or defense camp this summer. He needs it. Tim is at best a second or third man off the bench in 2009/2010 and 2010/2011 seasons. More talent is out there for Bayno. I have had a post about a month ago on this topic. Tim needs to play both sides of the ball. No doubt Sweezy has more heart than the remaining old Tention Lions. I wish Sweezy's heart could be placed in Diederichs or Sutton...that would be a solid basketball player.

I think Sweezy has is best basketball in front of him. Under the right coaching and system he can be a very solid player. I watched him over the summer and he has a great work ethic and is talented. Sutton was in the gym a lot over the summer too. I could see he was working hard to improve. The new guys were pushing him. It will be interesting to see how things play out for him this year. Glad Timmy put on some muscle...even undersized(skinny) he was able to use his skills to have some great offensive games. He has have it improve his D and boards if he wants to keep up his playing time.
So many things to look forward too.
Go Lions

Wasn't Sweezy a three star coming out of HS? Great to hear he is working hard to improve his game.

You are correct Duke, Scout had him as a three star.

^Therefore you shouldn't get so hyped about the new recruits until you see them play at the D1 level. Star ratings and "expert" opinions don't help on the court...Bring back Charles Bradley! jk
