How many scholarships do we have available for 2009's recruiting class? If we get all the above listed recruits, will we be saying an early goodbye to Sweezy, Sutton, or Deaderichs? We only lose one scholarship senior this upcoming year (Marco Deric), right? Counts and Kanne are walk-ons, right?

I believe we will have 3. Counts has one, Deric, and Jenkins. I don't think Deadrichs is going anywhere. He wasn't the best on D and rebounds but he is talented. Not sure about Sweezy and Sutton...they have a lot to prove this year.

ironlions, you are right. I forgot about Jenkins bouncing out. However, I have never been able to get a complete true answer on Counts' scholarship info. Some I have talked with say NO SCHOLARSHIP, others say PARTIAL SCHOLARSHIP, others say he has earned a full scholarship. Don't know what is true or false, but I will trust your info. Thanks.

Each D1 team gets 13 scholarships, so after this year we will have: 1. Laron Armstead 2. Larry Davis 3. Tim Diederichs 4. Jarred Dubois 5. Ashley Hamilton 6. Terron Sutton 7. Brad Sweezy 8.Vernon Teel 9. Drew Viney 10. Kevin Young
3 open scholarships for next year

Corey was a walk on but given a scholarship the next year by Tension.

If we have a scholarship to give Corey deserves it. At times he was the best player we had on the floor last year.

Welcome class of 2009. Another really strong recruiting class from Bayno. Great news for our program.

is there room for 1 more? scout.com says Victor Rudd still has high interest in us. Having reffed his games a few times, I'd love for him to come aboard as well...

I'm pretty sure that we are done with the 2009 class. We are also out of scholarships. Additionally, Rudd position is pretty full now with Terrell,Drew,Ashley. If were were to go after someone else I would prefer that he was a talented big man.

I would never say we are done until Bayno says he is done. You never know, Bayno may ask some of the remaining Rodney Tention recruits to leave if they don't cut it this year.

This is true, you never know with Coach Bayno. I see Sweezy and Sutton becoming role players. We can't bring in more talent and then just ask them to sit. PT is going to be an issue.

Time to load up for 2010 recruits. Maybe we can add another big man in that class. I also think a premiere PG will be on the radar in two years.
