This kid is someone new on the radar I saw on espn insider today. He is a shooting guard out of Massachusetts. Looks like he is looking at us and one other school right now. Please add info if you have anything on him or how seriously we are looking at him. Sorry kind of vague but I am trying to write this on my blackberry.

Me likey...but would rather have another C or PF. Profiles: www.newenglandrecruitingreport.com/recruits/player/204/Austin-Carroll.phpfairfield.scout.com/a.z?s=460&p=8&c=1&nid=3279510June 7th, 2007 www.NewEnglandRecruitingReport.comSince March the Worcester Academy guard has received scholarship offers from two Atlantic 10 programs and most recently a Big East program. Prior to this season Austin Carroll may have been best known for being John Carroll’s son. In New England, and Massachusetts in particular, it is hard to escape your father’s shadow when he is a former head coach of the Boston Celtics. But after a very impressive sophomore season at Worcester Academy and an equally impressive spring AAU season with the New England Playaz, Austin is quickly establishing his own identity. This season Carroll accomplished the rare feat of cracking the starting lineup at a NEPSAC Class “A” school in only his sophomore season. With his lethal outside shot and high basketball I.Q. Carroll was able to more then hold his own against players two and three years his elder. The coaching staff at nearby Holy Cross College had a front row seat to his season and were compelled to offer him a scholarship despite the fact that he was two and a half seasons away from graduation. Since the beginning of the AAU season those offers have increased in both quantity and stature. It started when Xavier, fresh off their Atlantic 10 championship and near upset of Ohio State in the NCAA tournament, offered in March. Three weeks later at the King James Classic, when Carroll scored 28 points including 6 three-pointers in front of Rhode Island Assistant Coach Pat Skerry, the Rams became the second Atlantic 10 program to vie for his services. Finally late last month, Carroll’s recruitment reached an all new level as he received his first scholarship offer from a “high major” program when the Big East’s West Virginia, and new Head Coach Bob Huggins, called to offer a scholarship. But even after seeing his recruiting status essentially explode in the last three months the rising junior has remained level headed in a manner that reflects his maturity on the court. “It’s way too early to have a leader,” said Carroll. Indeed Carroll seems poised to continue his breakout year as he is set to attend Xavier’s Elite Camp this weekend followed by the NBA Player’s Association Camp later this month. After that, will come the July live period where he and his New England Playaz team will travel to the Adidas It Takes Five Championships, the Hall of Fame National Invitational, and the Adidas Super 64 Tournament in Las Vegas. But regardless of what happens in the next month and a half you can bet that college coaches from coast to coast now know the name Austin Carroll. ESPN November, 2007: Austin, the son of former Celtics' coach John Carroll, is an excellent spot shooter, especially coming off screens. His court IQ and passing ability makes him comfortable at either guard position. Plays his best in a structured offense although his transition game shows progress when he sees the floor on the move. Plays with a lot of determination and savvy. Austin has a great basketball IQ and makes everyone on the floor better. This combo guard see's the floor well and play's hard. A real team player who is also a good shooter and displays great passing skills. He lacks explosiveness on moves to the glass but having said that he is not afraid to put it on the floor and take it to the hoop. Overall, a great teammate who is very unselfish.

Austin sounds more intriguing now...just finished up a visit to Michigan. I'm not sure how much interest our coaches have in him but sounds like a good player.

From some of those bios on him he really does sound like Stephen Curry. Just a pure sharpshooter with probably underrated athleticism. Now that we have Garibay we just need our star Vinson and then this kid can camp out on the 3pt. line all day wait for the ball to come when teams double Vinson and Garibay. I can envision the whole thing now... would be great.

We need to get Terrell Vinson, then everything falls into place. Unstoppable will be the word.

2009-2010 starting Lineup PG: Dubois SG:Davis SF:Viney PF: Vinson C: Garribay Bench: Hamilton, Teel, Carroll, Kalipinde, Diedrichs, Sutton I like the looks of this I'd be surprised if Vinson's father believes this would be another 5 win team.

With that kind of lineup and depth we could soon be the class of the WCC. It really is unbelievable the impact Bayno has had in just a few months. We have seen how his relentless recruiting has paid off. Now I can't wait to see Bayno and all these new players out there working hard on the court and winning some ball games.

Really excited to see K Young play. From what I heard he is very talented. There is a reason SEC and ACC were after him.

my bad. I totally forgot about him, but yes I am very excited to see him play as well. Add him before Sutton and maybe diedrichs on that depth chart.
With that lineup we would have balance inside and out.
