Several sources are confirming that LMU's 6'9" Center/Forward Terron Sutton has suffered a torn ACL, will undergo surgery shortly, and be out for the '08-'09 season. This would mean a loss for the Lions' front line in an already depleted or non-existant low post presence.
Health remains a concern for the young Lions as they enter the non-conference schedule. Forward Tim Deaderichs has been out of practice for the last week with a shoulder injury. Walk-on Griffin Rielly (Forward) is also recovering from a leg injury.

That's is bad news. Isn't this the second time a injury has caused Sutton to miss an entire season. I hope Coach Bayno start recruiting another big man for the 2009 class. I really hope Tim is alright. If he is out for an extended time we are going to have to have try and run our opponents to death. Go Lions

Terron is indeed done for the year.

I know you guys don't want to hear it, but I have been as optimistic about Bayno and our new found Lions. However, we still have a gap (obvioiusly this year, but also in 2009-2010) on the front line. Edgar Garibay will definitely be a huge addition next year. However, Bayno needs to land some other inside presence. We need a quality guy to come off the bench.
Terron may not have lit the world on fire, but he was a big body and showed some signs of being a solid bench contributor. Besides his rebounding, we has a big body and 5 fouls. I'm being blunt, but I truely think Terron injury is a significant hit. Sounds as if we will be running and gunning, which is great but once we have a physical team on the schedule with some big men I am very very curious how we will respond. The Notre Dame game will be a true test. If we keep in within 10-15, I will be happy. However, if it is a 40+ Tention like blow out to a D2 transitional to D1 team (hello, CalState Bakersfield), it will point to several things...but one significant issue.....the need for a off the bench big man. Deaderich in my mind does not cut it. My thoughts of Deaderich has been played out on these board in the past and I won't waste the "regular board members'" time.

You intentionally misspelling "Deaderich" instead of Diedrich is already a waste of my time.

We really needed Sutton this season, and we really need Tim this season.

Can all of you PLEASE use better grammar and punctuation? Reading some of the stuff on this board makes me wonder if you graduated from LMU. It's clear the parties involved weren't english majors.

You intentionally misspelling "Deaderich" instead of Diedrich is already a waste of my time. lmutex: I must have been having flashbacks to Deadwiler or Dead3man posts. Interesting that both players share being overvalued compared to the bottom line numbers in the stat sheets. Gosh, can we get a guest appearance from Dead3man on how great Deadwiler is looking at Utah Valley State? I must be having withdawls from not seeing his posts. Oh, by the way lmutex....YOU misspelled Tim's last name. My misspelling could be regarded as "intentional," but yours is out of plain...mmm you figure it out. Died erichs is the proper spelling. You may want to flip through the media guide to get acquainted with the spelling. Lastly, who broke this injury on this board? I don't think I am wasting any time, but instead adding value to this board. Please watch who you insult as it may delay you getting information on the Lions.

I just saw Terrell walking around campus and he seemed fine. Its really a bummer that he is out the whole year, I had a feeling Bayno would haven't alot out of him this year.
Go Lions

I believe he can apply for a medical redshirt (i.e. 6th year) once his remaining eligibility runs out.

Well I guess I'll chime in since one is still hating on Deadwiler. First it's Utah Valley University. If what I read is true he's playing for one heck of a coach. They have the #1 Independent Player of the Year the last two years on the team, Ryan Toolson and Rodney Price starting for the Utah Jazz. I think Deadwiler is in great hands for him. Whats the last Pro in the NBA from LMU, Hum!!!! Guys lets let Banyo do his thing and get LMU turned into a winning program. Banyo like Deadwiler they way I heard it but now we have players he loves and we love so lets look at the positive strides made this summer and for the future and not backwards. Your question has been answered, Deadwiler is doing just fine.
