I heard near the end of the KXLU transmission that we had a closed-door scrimmage against a ranked USC team this weekend. One of the coaches giving the interview was obviously elated by the victory agains HIU and said he was looking forward to the SC challenge. Any chance someone in here might be able to confirm and give us some tasty info on how it goes down. These scrimmages are gaining popularity - Texas is playing Gonzaga and St. Mary's is playing Nevada this weekend. www.guboards.com/showthread.php?t=15026

Should be some good experience for our guys playing a ranked team so early. I really wish us fans could go though.

Our men's team beat USC by nine points. Is this for real? Any more details?

yes it is for real.
I talked to a member of the team. He said they did beat Sc.
USC was playing everyone except daniel hackett. He said they shut derozan down for 10 points.

Impressive about shutting down derozan down. I saw him play in Kobe summer camp tournament at LMU and he was killing people. Even scored on Kobe a few times. Since we don't have much size we need to focus on defense and running other teams to death.
