Battle of the 3-12 teams. Would make riveting TV?
I hope the lions can pull this out. Very winnable but so have others been. Move the ball, protect the ball, yadda yadda. Let's go lions and WIN!

We must win this game. We need a victory for morale and momentum. Conference play is at our door step.
Our non-conference opponents turned out to be pretty tough 11-3 BYU, 11-1 Sam Houston, 9-3 San Diego State, 11-2 UC Santa Barbara, 9-3 Boise State, 8-3 Arkansas Little Rock, 13-2 New Mexico.
Go Lions

We need this win badly. However, what scares me is that Bakersfield defeated UC Riverside (71-53) earlier this season. And we all know what we did against UCR. As duke jokes, this one may be a riverting one to watch....it would.

LA Times reported that two of their starters are injured.
Bakersfield has lost its last two games and is without injured starters Santwon Latunde and Alex Johnson.
If we don't win I'm going to rip up my diploma.
Go Lions

The offense and the turnover are not going to improve overnight, but with a solid defensive effort we should be able to come away with a win tonite.

Go Lions I would never tear up the diploma, but this one looks HORRIBLE from the outset. IF we get run out of Bakersfield (current score 29 - 9), RT may want to do a gut check.

56-26 halftime score. 30 point difference after 20 minutes. THIS IS EMBARRASSING. Cal State Bakersfield is a DIVISION II school that began its EXPLORATORY YEAR in 2005-2006. As such, they are in the 2nd TRANSITION YEAR with NCAA DIVISION I full membership received (pending successful completion during the 5 year transition period) in 2010-2011.
I will go on the record......RT best be looking to DRASTICALLY IMPROVE the team in the second half because I would be hard pressed to say this team can reach 5 victories this season. A 5-26 season is a FIRABLE OFFENSE (I hope Husak reads this board). But that would be hopefully we can scrap out 2 wins in conference.
Let's face it....we have limited QUALITY BIG MEN. Next year we bring in 2 more guards. NO NEW BIG MEN. So it is 2009-2010 until we get a possible BIG MEN.
With this snapshot, we are a long way off from competing.
Let's hope the 2nd half is exactly opposite and we pull out a win. Otherwise, this is completely EMBARRASSING. But a game consists of 2 halfs. We can only hope.

Will anyone else go on record if we don't finish with more than 5 wins, we need a change at the head coaching rank? A loss to Dominguez Hills and a pending loss to Bakersfield (71-40 current score) is COMPLETELY rediculous for a WCC school, especially LMU.

Having Bakersfield score 98 against us is a NIGHTMARE. I hate to be on that bus going over the grapevine tonight. M.V.L. has called it correctly....."A STATE OF EMERGENCY" What quality big man recruit will want to join us for the 2009-2010 when we could possibly have a over 25 losses? alert2....get that ball of fire under RT's @ss and the whole team. This season is ridiculous. Getting blown out by Division II schools and losses to UCI and UCR. We only have wins against Presbyterian (a school that last year was Division II status), Mercer, and a miracle win against Boise State. SOMETHING HAS TO GIVE and I hope it is not Gersten Pavillion going down in a fiery implosion after a more than likely drubbing from Gonzaga on Saturday evening. For RT's sake, I sure hope January 12 is another miracle win against the Zags. Last year's well played victory is sweet to witness. I will be there cheering my lungs out. Everyone, please wear your crimson. We have to look good for FSN. Same goes for Monday's game on ESPNU. GO LIONS!

Allow me to be the first to suggest that with the Sonics in limbo and all, maybe Westhead can get out of his contract and head on home. Besides, you don't need huge bodies to run the Westhead offense.
