The article made it seem like his father is in Norcal. Maybe Rodney will get his boy up to Stanford. He could do some major damage in the Pac10 up there, the article even suggested playing football and basketball. I don't think he would do that, but I would like to see him in the Pac10

SD fans seemed to be expecting it to happen. I don't see him coming to another WCC team. If SD was smart part of the release would be state that he cannot join another WCC team. Stanford sounds like a place he could end up. Tention was recruiting him for LMU so there is that connection.

Too bad the WCC is losing Jones. And lots of negative developments down there in San Diego. Some fans are calling for the new coach's head but he has defenders too. They have come down a lot since last years NCAA appearance. Yes, they did have an unfortunate injury to a key player, but they didn't look that strong at their last game at LMU. Without a good recruiting year, SD will be a lot weaker next year, as will the WCC in general.

I actually happen to think the WCC will be tough next year.
LMU will be much improved, Santa Clara will be tough. Portland and Gonzaga should both be NCAA tournament teams. St Mary's will be at least an NIT team, a tournament team with MIlls returning. San Francisco has Lowhorn back along with Wallace and Kwame Vaughn. Pepperdine will be better than this year. What do the rest of you think?

The WCC will be a lot stronger at the bottom at least. The only teams that will get weaker are perhaps USD but even they will get their best player back and SMC if Mills leaves but they won't be a garbage team. Things should be a lot more competitive and fun.
Gonzaga Portland LMU SMC (no Mills) SCU USD USF Pepp
is how I see things. LMU/SMC/SCU will be the middle. USF and Pepp should be better but I don't see them passing anyone up.

I am not so sure about Portland. They played well this season but the WCC was very weak and tonight they lost to Pacific in the first collegeinsider.com tournament 76-82. But Pacific did host. They'll be good but nothing pops out that they'll be a lock for the top 2.

I agree - we almost beat Portland with our depleted team this year at LMU. They are not that good. Next year will be different with our increase in talent. We almost beat Santa Clara also at LMU even with Bryant but he hit something like 15 free throws with few if any misses for SC to hold on at the end.

Raivio, stohl, smeulders, niedermeyer, kenutsen, cambell, sikma all back. Pretty tough if you ask me.

Portland's season last year was the first good season in some time. I still don't see them as a lock for the 2nd spot by any means. Frankly, I don't see that much dynamic talent and specifically guard talent to warrant that view. I don't guarantee LMU that spot, I think cracking the upper division is as far as I'm willing to go, but looking at zagsfanforlife's prior entry, how many of those players would you rather have over any of: L. Davis, Viney, Hamilton, Young, Dubois, Garribay, Kalipinde, Diedrichs or Teel? And, I have not listed Lawson or Osborne since they have not committed.

Time will tell. i would much rather have LMU take that spot. Just think there is too much talent. To answer your question, not knowing how good Davis really is, I would say Raivio and T.J. Campbell are better at this point in there careers than the players mentioned above. I have yet to see Viney or Davis though. If they are as good as advertised it will be a special year next year and the year after.

zags, I agree the proof is in the play. It should be much more fun from the LMU side next year. Let's see what happens.
