Westhead is now 70 years old and may have lost a bit of his drive and charisma?? Name value would have been interesting though if he is clever hiring his staff.

Westhead is a journeyman coach. He travels from town to town like Ringling Brothers and coaches wherever he can find a gig.
Ever time we start looking for a coach there is a small cry to bring Westhead back. Bring back the glory that he created here goes the argument and it certainly is powerful (heck - Pepp got sucked into it and let's see how well bringing back the "old glory" coach does for them) but in my opinion it's for the birds.
I wish the man no ill will but certanly don't want him back on our sideline. The glory days of LMU was the right coach with the right players with the right system at the right time. It can't be re-created. Any attempt to do so will just distract us.

What you're saying makes a LOT of sense, stillalion.

I agree Stillalion and Crazygirl - LMU is doing just fine on our current path!

I wonder why it has never been thought of to bring him back to LMU??!!! Been reading for a while but decided to finally join.... To answer the question, Westhead and the LMU administration did not end on good terms at all. In addition to that, there are very powerful individuals in the administration who have personal grudges (to an extent) against him. One of them being Dr. Bove.
