Just pubished review of top 100 from ESPN Insider. Alas, the SUPER SLEEPER: Terrell Vinson. Keep reading. Bradley takes over the top spotComment Email Print Share By Paul Biancardi Scouts Inc. Archive Over the past few years we at Scouts Inc. have watched tons of tape and personally scouted the players in the Class of 2009. Some of these kids, such as Lance Stephenson (New York/Lincoln) and Derrick Favors (Atlanta/South), have been on our radar from Day 1. Other prospects, such as John Jenkins (Gallatin, Tenn./Station Camp) and Kawhi Leonard (Riverside, Calif./King), were not as quick to emerge, but with their play over the past year they showed themselves to be guys with very good potential at the next level. With last week's National High School Invitational completed, the high school basketball season is done. Along with that, it is time for us to rate the talent in this class one final time. Here's a look at the final ESPNU 100 for the Class of 2009. The super sleeper No. 49 Terrell Vinson (Baltimore/St. Frances) is a versatile player who can play both the power forward and small forward positions and fill up the stat sheet. He's a threat to score at most spots on the floor and is especially adept in the low post because of his soft touch and extension on his release. Vinson has a good face-up game; he can really make the defense pay from 17 feet and in or slash his way to the hoop. He plays under former Temple star Mark Karcher who instills defensive intensity and a hard-nosed attitude in all his players. An unsigned recruit, Vinson is being pursued by UMass, Maryland, South Florida, Providence and Cincinnati. sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/recruiting/basketball/mens/columns/story?columnist=biancardi_paul&id=4054919

I dont know about the rest of you, but I could care less about terrell vinson and how his career ends up playing out. He is not a Lion and will never be a Lion. Why continue the discussion about someone who decommitted from LMU because only one person left. Yes, it happens a lot where a player will switch schools because the head coach he signed with leaves, but if you are going to sign with a school for the sole purpose of playing for one man, then I believe your priorities are mixed up. College should be about more than one coach, one man. For starters, it should be about the individuals you will be playing with, the group of men who will become like your second family over the next four years. Second, the college experience does entail waking up everyday, having to go to class. For a kid to decommit just because a coach leaves seems pretty strange to me.
that being said, can we please stop the Vinson talk... maybe more Kalipinde, Garibay, Lawson or Osborne?

Amen Zags - Well said. My only hope is that LMU ends up playing the team he ends up on at some point and makes a statement.

I agree that Vinson is making his decisions for his own reasons, not those you cite - he is focused on maximizing chances for an NBA career. He probably thought Bayno was an excellent link to the NBA and was probably right at the time. I would prefer athletes made decisions using the criteria you cite but they don't always. I also don't think the "one and done" players are maximizing their future happiness by skipping the college experience but they see the money and may have other priorities. Regarding dialog on Vinson and his career, you could just stop reading the Vinson links if you can "not care less" - no? I, for one, will be curious to see how his college career works out for him.

I also will be curious about how Bayno's career unfolds. I wish him the best despite the unfortunate circumstances here at LMU.
