www.lmulions.com/sports/m-baskbl/mtt/loyo-m-baskbl-mtt.htmlLooks like we have new walk on: Kevin Berardini Meanwhile, Kevin Berardini, who will be a senior at Lake Forest, turned a few more heads over the weekend. He was second team all-showcase.
"He did really well," said Weinstein. "He's a tough kid. I was impressed with him."
This talented guard already had caught the attention of Bucknell, Colgate, Columbia and Harvard. Not bad having a walk on with D1 interest. Go Lions

This is a good looking team and a young team - what a change from struggling last year with 8 or 9 guys! Welcome Berardini also to the roster - he will have some struggle getting any minutes unless he is very talented. Notice that Terron Sutton is gone and that Hamilton and Diederichs were not charged for last season and retain their Freshman and Sophomore status respectively. Detail (in case an administrator is reading) the Roster is for 2009-2010 (not 2008-2009 as labeled).

Talked to a friend who had seen this kid play a couple of times out in Chicago. Said the 2 guard on his team was the best shooter he's ever seen in high school, and thinks that Beradini could be a quality starting point guard in the wcc due to his passing skills and defense. Was suprised the kid didn't get a scholarship to play at a mid major. Sounds pretty good.

Kevin was recruited by some Ivy league schools- we are lucky to have him as a walk on.

ironlions - do you know how Kevin got added to the roster? Did the coaches have a workout with him at LMU or in Chicago to decide if he will fit? Or some other way?

I'm not sure how Kevin ended up on the roster. However, I have watched him play and he is a great addition. He is tough and smart and seem like a kid will work hard on everything to make himself a better player.

Thanks ironlions. Someone must have seen him somewhere - maybe he visited LMU during the summer and worked out? - coaches would not have added him to the roster if they did not think he would add to the team. Regarding pickup games, I went by LMU yesterday afternoon and did not see any games. The courts were all set up for Volleyball games. I ran into a member of the athletic staff and asked about pickup games and he indicated the most likely times are Wednesday and Thursday and especially Friday evenings. The new floor looks really great!
