Corcordia California defeats UC Irvine 57-56 (Exhibition) A tough Concordia team, ranked #8 in NAIA Division I, defeated UC Irvine at Irvine last evening. Concordia led by 14 points before Irvine rallied to make it a game. Concordia lost to UCLA by 1 point in Westwood earlier. UC Irvine is our first home opponent in the 2009-2010 season, so it is nice to see a team scoring less than 100 points per game on our early schedule! ;D Concordia perspective naia.cstv.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/111009aaa.htmlUC Irvine perspective www.ucirvinesports.com/sports/m-baskbl/recaps/111009aaa.htmlApparently NAIA is the weaker sister to the NCAA in college athletics. I need to find out more about NAIA.

Tough way to prepare for the regular season. Irvine was absolutely man-handled and bullied inside by Texas! Could only watch a few minutes of the game.

Calling all Lions fans - let's fill the house for our home opener Wednesday against UCI. The Lions stepped up and really played tough this past weekend, and we should show our support in equal measure.
We can even our record with a home victory! Let's help them get it!~

I'm very happy with our showing in Montana. It would have been nice to have beaten the Grizz but the ball just didn't roll the right way at the last moment. We took two teams that are predicted to challenge for their leagues to the wire and that is okay with me. Now the Lions are back home and I hoping for a great showing of fans. I think we need to really go out and beat Irvine from start to finish. I expect the players to display a lot of energy and them to be playing with a chip on their shoulder because of the two games that slipped away. Starting five: PG-Teel SG-Davis SF-Young PF-Viney C- Garibay Does anyone have any word on Ash's injury status? I'm feel horrible for him- we need him on the floor! I'm interested to see how the tailgating will be. Go Lions

The team should be ready to go come Wednesday. I like your switch to putting edgar into the staring lineup iron but I think we could do a lot of damage running a three guard front all three which can play the point to get the ball up along with drew who can be a point forward. I unfortunatly didn't get to see the games this weekend and espn gamecast was a little messed up but it seemed like we ran this offense effectivly. But from the looks of it and seeing the guys play in the past the idea or vern, ld, drew or jd driving and kicking to the fill guy for a three seems like one hell of a base offense.

JD needs to watch a bit until he gets his shot back - good lineup.

Three guard is a good idea. I read over Irvine's line up and one of their best posts is a big undersized guy at 6'5. Davis, Teel and JD could really do some damage.

Hey if there best post is a 6'5 guy then even sweezy should get some minutes. Sorry to tim and edgar but they have gotten in fould trouble with smaller guys. Brad has guarded dior(usf) and Harangody(ND) to almost perfection. he would have some height on the guy along with his lower leverasge and power he could do some damge. Just imagine the runin offense on the floor with a three guard front drew kev and brad on rotation in the middle. Its time to play ball.

No sweezy please. when is hamilton back?
I love the fact LMU has three go to guys in Davis, Viney and Teel. Even JD has take over ability. Excited to see how they play in their first game back home.
We have two more years after this year of Viney?? WOW. His stroke is pure.

Luckily we don't need Sweezy to provide offense. He is a tough kid who mix it up for us if needed.
