He's not wrong LMU "won" their way to 8th place finishing above a team that graduated its best two players and replaced its coach and team almost entirely. The other team is in the middle of a scandal with a suspended head coach . Beating Pepperdine twice is a nice achievement, but that's all that was noteworthy . The fact that the team played better without Jacko once again demonstrates that CMD has difficulty utilizing a star. How that will improve with Manuel next year is up in the air. LMU is at least not last but as the rest of the league has risen to be competitive with the upper echelon essentially our "development " has to measured in context. There is talent and a way but key to the offseason is Dunlap's own improvement . He should step away from recruiting trips and Twitter fingers and focus on preparing scouting reports and game plans

With or without Jacko, the Lions ought to win. San Diego is a bad team this year. Sanadze is a good player but he's not 38 points good. They have very little else.
I know they beat the Lions in San Diego but we shouldn't lose a second time.

Yeah, I agree. We missed something like our last 20 shots in that game; don't see that happening again.

Nice article - Westhead has LMU roots it seems. He is in the wings if Dunlap lays an egg next season - sounds like Paul would like another shot here at LMU. Is it age discrimination if he isn't hired? Or does he not deserve another shot based on his record? Or is he out of the loop on what's happening locally? Anyway makes for interesting speculation. By the way, the commute from Palos Verdes is no picnic unless you come on off-traffic hours.

Great news! So, if he will be elgible right away, he must be a graduate transfer, right?

this gives us a very crowded front court. Jacko, Johnson, Sykes, Herman, and Manuel assuming his primary position will be the 4, not the 3. Kind of wish he wasn't eligible immediately, as he would be much more valuable to our team next year. Just looking at his stats and highlights I don't think you can say he's better than the guys we have, but you can never have too many bigs, and this should definitely create more competition in practice.

What a pleasant surprise! Looks like a guy who can battle the other top WCC centers and take pressure off Jacko inside Hawaii was very good last season so he is a real player

Great news! So, if he will be elgible right away, he must be a graduate transfer, right? No. I did a little research and Hawaii is facing a postseason ban. They already lost some players since next year they won't be able to follow up this year. www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/eye-on-college-basketball/25423297/hawaii-receives-postseason-ban-in-2017-other-sanctions-from-ncaaI believe that when a team is facing sanctions the NCAA allows them to freely transfer without having to sit out. Jovanovic should still have two years of eligibility remaining. I guess as a local kid at Bishop Montgomery he wants to come back near home after enjoying Hawaii for two years. Good life moves right? Spends two years in hawaii, goes to the NCAA tourney then gets to come back to LMU and graduate? Some people have it all. I think this is a good move because lets be honest I don't think Herman was trending to anything better than back-up center in the WCC. This adds depth and real size because that's what we were missing last year. PG Tutu Brown Gibson SG Tuach McClendon Hayes SF Haney Spiers PF Manuel Johnson Herman C Jacko Jovanovic Sykes I count 14 there, so that means someone is not coming back. My guess is Hayes, Herman or Sykes will decommit

He has already played three years at Hawaii so he should only have on year at lmu.
