Thanks for the update. Sounds promising - as lionlife said, we need at least a secure ball handler if not scorer.

LMU has their Summer HS Team Camp coming up on the weekend of June 15, 16 and June 22, 23. This is for their recruiting class for 2020-21 and after. I'll update later on which teams are there after I ref the event.

LMU had their HS team camp this past weekend, bringing in several local HS teams to hold games where coaches can watch local talent and bring players/team on campus for information visits. The event was smaller this year, not as many teams as in prior years. Bishop Montgomery, Brentwood, Dorsey, and Santa Clara might have been the biggest name schools. A team from Germany came, they had some big and fundamentally sound players all around and played Bishop and Brentwood to close games, despite losing closely at the end.
I did talk to the staff about the incoming players whom they are excited about. The team still has one scholarship available and are still looking into recruiting a PG for the team.

Too bad - back to the drawing boards. Looks like Texas San Antonio had an Italian connection which gave them a recruiting advantage. I like that Dunlap is setting his targets high.

Can't say he was dissuaded from signing with the Lions due to our daunting PG depth chart. I am starting to get concerned.

6/24/2019 - 2021 PG Tyrone Washington (6-4, 170, 2★) has received an offer from Loyola Marymount. 6/24/2019 - 2020 PG Evan Nelson (6-2, 155, 2★) has received an offer from Loyola Marymount. www.verbalcommits.com/conferences/west-coast Nelson has tons of offers including Harvard. Nelson is from Tuscon. Washington has offers from 5 teams in the WCC, plus GCU, UCSB and Montana. He is from Phoenix so will likely stay in the west.

Now that the dust has settled (more or less) in the NBA, I was hoping for news on our new PG but nothing yet. In the meantime, Dunlap is looking ahead and has the oar in the water early for this 2020 PG per Verbal Commits:
7/4/2019 - 2020 PG Jordan Montgomery (6-2, 170, 2★) has received an offer from Loyola Marymount.

Needless to say, he knows how to finish around the rim...
The last four years the most minutes played on the team have been by a point guard, either Brown or Batemon, so Dunlap, a point guard himself back in the day, clearly understands the importance of the position. Not necessarily saying this young man will come in day one and take over that role.
But he certainly has an impressive highlight reel!
Nice work, coaching staff, welcome aboard. Hope it is for this fall.

I enjoyed watching the high school highlights. I'm sick of purely the AAU practice games where everyone just does all-star game stuff. At least in these mostly high school clips I know that those guys on the other team aren't trying to get embarrassed in front of their friends and the girls so I know that this kid has some breakaway speed and bounce.
Respect to basketball in the Memphis area, he definitely will have some toughness to his personality.

Per his high school coach, looks like Williams is indeed enrolling next month!

Beautiful! The athletic index of our team has doubled from last season - should be an exciting season. Well done coaches for finding such a talent this late in the recruiting period.
