Quinn has not moved on but you won't know that would you?
If Quinn has moved on, and LMU has been struggling, and Burton makes up a schedule that only Hostess would love, ACC, All CupCakes, then why wouldn't Quinn schedule LMU???
Those games schedule early in Burton's tenture could have been in place before Quinn got there.
So why wouldn't Quinn want to schedule LMU? Considering how much LMU has struggled and Burton's love of scheduling weak teams?

Quinn does not do the basketball schedule - that's how I know that. Burton has an assistant do it... with his ultimate approval. If Burton wanted to schedule other So-Cal WCC teams CSUF would.

You don't know jack. The AD has to approve the schedule and he also sets guidelines on the schedule. One of his guidelines, do not schedule LMU.

Alert2,
CSUF's AD was the AD at LMU during the Hank and Bo days, he was eventually let go of during the late 90's. But don't buy in to what Czar is saying, the AD has no problem. Believe me he's in a place that has won a Natl Championship in baseball and gone to the NCAA's in basketball since his time at LMU. He still loves LMU and his tenure there.
Some of the Big West schools and fans would like more games with the So-cal WCC teams, less expensive travel, and some fans think that So-cal matchups would raise fan interest and attendance. That's up for debate...
WCC schools don't want to play too many Big West schools though... it doesn't do anything for their strength of schedule.
Czar, Burton controls his own schedule. Obviously the AD signs contract... But Burton and his staff control the games, if they wanted to play LMU Quinn would sign the contract.

So how do you explain CSF and LMU not playing each other since 03 or 04? Just the breaks? Burton schedules every cupcake around. Why wouldn't he schedule LMU, who has been struggling for awhile? But instead he'll go to Bozeman, MT? He wouldn't want to go 40 miles west and play LMU?
Basketball is the main sport for all schools without football. Losing to LMU is something Quinn doesn't want. I know enough CSF boosters and people at CSF that Quinn doesn't want anything to do with LMU in basketball. Those early games between the two schools must have been the end of long time contracts.

schedules for men's basketball are done on a yearly basis, with the potential to have 2 year contracts when games are home and home. you don't have games set five years or more in advance like you do for football. therefore, those games would have been entered into when BQ was the AD. CSUF and LMU play in ALL other sports but basketball. it has been the scheduling philosophy of Burton NOT to play local So-Cal WCC schools. he was really good friends with tention, and when tention got hired, CSUF was on the rise, why would LMU then want to play CSUF???

We can be confident that LMU will not play the Titans in the 09-10 season and leave this thread for discussing those teams we will play.

We did play Fullerton in 2004 at Fullerton. I don't think Quinn is happy with Husak after trying to aggresively go after Burton after he just signed him to an extension.

This seems more like the schedule we should have had last year.
I guess it's hard to book powerhouse teams with our record.

I believe USF played the Academy of Arts last year. It would probably be better if we played Westchester High School.

Not sure who we will play at the MT tournament, but aside from ND we should beat all of those teams!

Holy Cow! What a change from last year! I have been asking for a few easy games to gain confidence early on but not this many. Sorry to see we are not playing USC as previsously thought - I was planning to go to Galen Center for that one. Regarding the schedule, maybe we should dump the Notre Dame game and shoot for a perfect season??
