North Dakota had a great season last year. Boise State usually has a good team.

USF beat Academy of Art 74-23 - Westchester High would be more competitive. Maybe this is why we are avoiding them like CS Fullerton. Where does this schedule come from anyway? We'll have a super competitive team next year but the schedule doesn't reflect this. Wyoming and Tulsa are no pushovers. And what about UC Santa Barbara? Don't we get a chance to see OJ again next year? Or am I reading the schedule wrong again? (PS I have moved on but still have interest in OJ's playing skills.)

Ok so my listing was just a sampling of our schedule. There are some really bad teams that distract from the more quality opponents that we have lined up. All in all this is a fair schedule that should still be plenty competitive. The only one that should not have been entertained was Academy of the Arts. 74-23 ? That sounds like not only a nightmare to play but also watch.

Not a sexy looking schedule but the average RPI is comparable to last years tough schedule (about 150 avg to 160 this season). Academy of Arts, I don't know what that is all about.

Thanks stillalion - probably need new glasses! And re Academy of Arts, I can't find anything about their team other than the loss to USF from the USF website.

Lets be honest fellas (and ladies.. crazy cage girl.. you still here?) THIS SCHEDULE SUCKS. The two semi good games are against ND and USC followed by a bundle of piss poor teams. Are these young studs really supposed to grow as a team playing against D2 like talent. The Academy of Arts? really??? I have trouble believing bigger name programs were not willing to schedule LMU considering our record the past few years.

There is a school of thought that says playing a non D1 school is actually better than playing a not very good D1 school. The theory is that win or lose, the not very good D1 school will hurt your RPI. But since games against non-D1 opponents are not used in calculating the RPI, in some cases it is better to play them.
I am not happy with the schedule either, but with our record being what it has been recently, it is hard to find opponents willing to play us as they think they will be hurting their RPI in doing so. We need to get better so better teams will see the value in playing us.
We just need to win some games this year and the scheduling will come.
