DePaul has three scholarships open but rumor on social media is that St Johns doesn’t have a scholarship unless they cut someone currently on the roster.

Interesting that UCLA and Marquette were also interested in him. Maybe Coach Johnson knows him from his time at Marquette? That would be a plus. He doesn't sound too enthused about DePaul.

He would be huge....
Most have him rated a lot higher than Buggs in their transfer rankings. Would be near all WCC performer next year.

Twitter reports that Salnave has recently been in touch with St. Johns coaches.

"He is from Brooklyn". Close, but no. Queens.

Saint Johns has been loading up with transfers, two star players from top JC teams and at least one grad transfer. I guess their coach Mike Anderson is a good recruiter

"He is from Brooklyn". Close, but no. Queens. From Queens, played AAU Ball based in the Bronx. Oh well, 0 for 2 on that one. lol.

I was just surprised to see Cardozo High mentioned. Can't remember a player out of there since Skip to My Lou.

Was he also on Harlem Globetrotters?

Rafer Alston? I don't think so? He certainly could have. As far as playground legends go, he might be the biggest success stories. Played in the league for over a decade.

I read that book long, long ago.
Anyway if you want to play six degrees of separation, Salnave went to Cardozo High in Queens. Former Temple center Duane Causwell also went to Cardozo High. Duane Causwell had a son named Dylan. Dylan Causwell played basketball (albeit briefly) where? LMU.
Clearly it is written in the stars.
Unnecessary side note: The Dad from Family Matters and Ron Jeremy (yes that Ron Jeremy) also matriculated at Benjamin Cardozo High. (Did I do that?)

To further the strong Cardozo-LMU connection, here's a piece of absolutely useless trivia.
Cardozo alum Reginald VelJohnson played Carl Winslow on Family Matters. His foil on the show was a nerdy kid named Steve Urkel. Urkel was played by actor Jaleel White. Jaleel White played in the inaugural MTV Rock n Jock Jam Basketball game in 1991. In keeping with LMU's run and gun tradition of that time period, the game ended 180-173 (ok, we are cheating here they had all kinds of gimmick 10 and 25 point shots).
Anyway, what is the connection you ask? Well where was that game played? Gersten Pavilion.
BANG.
