I think 2* is the default rating when the rosters don’t have much info on the player (just my guess)

verbal commits often defaults to 2 stars on players who are 2 years away from graduating unless they are a certified top 20 player in the country. Given he just reclassified from 2022 to 2021 that is probably why, but definitely a 4 star prospect when all said and done.
This explains the USF commitment. He is going to be a problem for us if he continues to develop

lmu2015 - no need for the qualifier ("if he continues to develop"). This guy is already good in his second year in basketball.

Kid has a great head on his shoulders and seems to want to do the hard work to be great....along being an athletic 7 footer that can shoot a 3. It is good know we were in the final four (at least from the listed offers) and it looks like he has family that works at USF, but it sure would fill a need to have a guy just like the to add to our talented guard heavy class.

USF and Santa Clara have both paused basketball activities. COVID-19 - the gift that keeps on giving.

Since we just played Santa Clara on Saturday I hope this won’t affect us from a “contact tracing” standpoint.

The Waves upset BYU today Anything can happen this season in any one game

The Waves have a lot of talent. I didn’t see the game but the upset doesn’t surprise me. I have a low opinion of Romer’s game day coaching but the player skill is definitely there. BYU has some real weaknesses, and it looks like the Waves exploited them. The Lions will be pressed to best Pepperdine this year.

I watched the game and I thought BYU looked bad. They could not shoot from the outside. I thought Barcello played terrible. I've seen BYU play a few games, and this was the worst I've seen them play. Pepperdine played with passion and was chasing down all loose balls and rebounds even thought they were smaller. Pepperdine wanted it more.

I watched the game tonight. Vadlion has summarized the teams’ efforts well. BYU looked like they walked into the Firestone thinking the game would be easy. The first several minutes seemed to justify that feeling with the Waves making all their normal gaffes.
But in the second half, the Waves wanted the game more. They hustled and played with focus. The Cougars just seemed to be going thru the motions. Barcelona was flat out poor and the Cougars don’t have all that much of an outside game without him. The Cougars really needed to work harder at getting the ball into their much superior bigs.... It didn’t happen.

It’s early but Pacific is giving the Zags all they can handle in a game with a 23 point spread Game on CBS Sports Network

For his supporters, Jordan Bell is leading the way for the Tigers. Is a Gonzaga’s loss good for the WCC? Probably not but Stotelmeyer will probably be recruited by a high level team, I’m hoping not.

All is still right in the world - Gonzaga prevailed. But the Tigers did a good job of keeping the Zags well below their normal scoring average. Especially with Douglas out, several Lions need to step up their game if the Lions want to stay ahead of Pacific, St Mary’s and Pepperdine. Assuming they get to play more games this year.

Stotelmeyer will probably be recruited by a high level team, I’m hoping not. This is the greatest alternate spelling for Stoudamire I’ve ever seen. A1 for effort! Carry on.
