Noticed in the game story on our site that this was our first win against an ACC team since 1966.
Go Lions!

If I told you before the game that Issanza and Graham would have zero points and three rebounds between them, and that Leaupepe and Anderson would go 1/10 from the arc; you would’ve said, “Well, this is going to be a bad blow-out.”
Wake Forest may have gone into the game thinking they had a cakewalk, but I don’t think they went into the second half or the OT thinking that. The Lions deserve strong praise for not succumbing to the pressure in either the second half or OT. It was a gritty performance.
Once again, I missed a good game but the stat lines tell the story. Strong play late in the game, especially from Sheldon, Ahrens and Stevens, pulled them thru. Well done guys!
I fully agree with the comment about Coach Stan needing some Plan Bs. The offense is simply too predictable. Opposing coaches are going to pick up on Stevens’ shooting. He shoots well but hasn’t yet learned how to drive. Teams will begin guarding him close and unless Coach does something to spring him free, he’s going to struggle seeing the basket. He can be a great asset for the team and that nickname is tailor-made for this NIL era. But he will need help.
I agree that we are seeing a different Sheldon this year. I was excited last year at the prospect of a Sheldon/Scott combo that had experience playing together. As we painfully found out, things didn’t work out with that. Not sure why not or who to blame. It just happened. But this year we’re seeing the Sheldon that was POY in the Big Sky.
Anderson is disappointing. He has a lot of talent but he’s making the same mistakes now he was making as a freshman. He hasn’t learned. It’s too bad because we could use his athleticism.
We sure need to see Douglas in action SOON!
Hopefully there’s no key down in this week’s games.

I really enjoyed watching these tournament games and not just because they won. The pace and style of play were fun to watch. I liked Dunlap, perhaps more than most, but when he won the same tournament, it was nice to see, but definitely not as fun or exciting.

At one point in the Championship game, the announcers noted that the Lions "seem to be having fun" on the court. Indeed, they did.

With their victory over Wisconsin yesterday, Wake Forest is now 7-1. Their only loss was to our Lions.
