This is where Pintens earns his money. With the introduction of NIL, you should see how crazy it is with High School sports. It finally trickled down to the point where my very low football division public school kids are being recruited to other programs no matter the level. Coaches in all sports are bouncing around the Southern Section. Very illegal but it’s happening. If low level high school sports is like this I can only imagine what D1 ball is like. Stan is probably fielding a ton of calls about his players and himself everyday. Who knows what his level of commitment to the area is. It’s a family decision too.

Mike Meadows told "sources" that he will visit Loyola Marymount March 28th. He averaged 11.3 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists, on 46.4/37.7/77.8 shooting splits last season at Portland. A proven WCC contributor.

Portland's Mike Meadows (who is visiting LMU next week) has comparable (but better) stats than Jalin and plays the same position. Below are comparisons of key stats. Meadows avg 11.0ppg vs JA avg 9.8ppg. FG% - MM 45% vs. JA .40% 3PT shooting average almost identical at 35%. Free Throw % MM-78% vs JA-63%. Despite playing 174 fewer minutes, Meadows got to the line more - 63 attempts vs. 46 attempts for Jalin. Meadows had a much better assist to turnover ratio 46 assists to 24 turnovers vs. Jalin who had 68 assists but had 73 turnovers. Meadows had 56 rebounds (in 174 fewer minutes) vs Jalin's 47 rebounds. Jalin was the clear winner in steals with 25 compared to Meadows who had 12. Comparing numbers doesn't account for style of play etc. but it would appear that Meadows would be a more efficient scorer and would turn the ball over less than Jalin while doing a better job on the boards and at the line. Hope we get him - would bring stability to the rotation.

In our important WCC tournament game vs BYU, Jalin was zero (0) for 8 shooting. Not the deciding factor alone but it didn’t help Jalin’s case

I didn’t see Meadows best as much as I saw Jalin, but I saw enough to rate him as a good PG who maintains control. Jalin had sone outstanding moments and even games, but you couldn’t trust him with running an offense. He has loads of talent but makes way too many silly mistakes, and he hasn’t shown me much growth as he’s advanced in years. He definitely brought much needed energy to the team and had moments where he really made a difference.

I suspect he asked Coach if he was going to run the offense next year and didn’t get the vote of confidence he was hoping for. Don’t like seeing him go, but I’d be happier with Meadows running the point.
