^^ That is the type of connection I referenced earlier with CSJ. Hopefully he can reconnect with portal players that he had been recruiting back when they were in high school.
And maybe one day some players he recruited to Marquette will become available.

The jump from Murray State (OVC) to LSU (SEC) clearly wasn't a success. LSU finished last in the league so he was on a team that probably had its share of dysfunction. The competition in the SEC was a tough as anywhere in the country from an athleticism standpoint. Hopefully, and clearly this is CSJ's thinking, he can revert to his Murray State form with the Lions in the mid-major WCC. He won't lack toughness and I agree that his assist to turnover ratio is solid. He addresses a key need. Now let's get an athletic wing and/or 3 & D guy.

Not reasonable to expect any of these guys to be better than Cam was for us this year, but I do think you could make an argument that Justice, Justin, and Mike are collectively better than Cam, Jalin, and Cam.
Edit: Our bigs all return as well, so we really do just need some wings, although the idea of those three guards all on the court with Keli and McBride would be a fun team to watch.

I like what Coach has accomplished with the 1 and 2 slots. Now, if can work some similar magic at the 3! I’d also like to see a back up 5 — doesn’t have to be a POY type. Just someone around 6’10” who can defend the rim.

I have no clue what happened at LSU-- it is pretty dysfunctional over there... what I do know is that Justice Hill was a stud player for a Murray State team that I believe won 30 games two years ago.. Was he hurt this year or coming in fully healthy? If the latter, this is a big impact guy.
Combine him with Meadows and the other transfer guard, and I am certain that our guard group is better this year, especially with the Stanford transfer from last year ready to go? possibly?
How many more open spots do we have now? A talented wing would be preferred as a big man inside who can score..
Between Rick, Kelli and the fresh, we should have active guys inside, just not sure any are elite back to the basket scorers. That would be big time if we could add that.
