So, we have a challenge from a freshman student...calling out the student body to show up this Friday and throughout the season. www.laloyolan.com/sports/calling_all_freshmenKudos to him and LA Loyolan for printing the editorial. Now, now, now.....support from fanbase is critical. But what is LMU doing to publicize / attract the student body consisently throughout the year? The Notre Dame game is SOLD OUT (per online individual ticket sales at LMULIONS.com or the application is screwed up). But does that mean the student section will be filled up? But where is the pre-party...pep rally....etc? We need to FEED off the sell out. It is one thing to sell out ONE game during the season, but it is a whole different story to contain that excitement in a bottle and sprinkle it throughout the season. That is the challenge I have for the athletic director, the administration, etc. I know the Presidential Donors and LIONSFUND are having a special pre-game event. But what about the rest of the fans and student body? Anybody know things going on for friday.

Lambda...ROAR needs to be there in full force before the game even starts and not just trickle in.
I like the Freshman challenge. They are in a unique position to be there from the beginning of the Bayno era, and then watching the sleeping giant that is LMU basketball wake up, drink 15 redbulls, and start kicking serious ass.
Go Lions

The Roar will be there early and in force. I think the student body will really rally around this game. We have some guerilla marketing techniques in the works. I think it is important to get the entire gym going crazy, not just the ROAR section. Everyone should be standing for the tip-off as The ROAR goes crazy to Zombie Nation. I think like other schools, we could even maintain the craziness until the other team scores. Any other suggestions would be great. We have started to dig up dirt on the team already, this should be a fun one. If any fans want to purchase a ROAR shirt for $10 to wear to games we are selling some shirts without the 44 for non-students who want to show their support for the team and get loud. Contact me or if there is enough interest we will sell them before the games. Also, we are currently trying to work out a deal with Tompkins Square, the former Fireside, to use as a meeting place to watch away games on TV. I think itd be great if we have a get together for games, and possible even a Lion's Den get together some time. I know other message boards have done similar.
I am gonna freeze myself untill Friday. . .

Agree, not just ROAR needs to be in mid-season screaming form, but the rest of the alumni, booster, and paying fan sections.
Let's go and support. Be loud. Be proud.

YPA (Young Presidential Alumni) Are having their own event as a pre-game, so if anyone on this board is a YPA make sure you contact someone in the know so you don't get left out - it is a free pre-game event for all YPA members.

Looks like it is OFFICIAL! First home opener sell out at Gersten Pavillion (in its 29 years of existence). Make your pre-party arrangements accordingly and plan on getting to the game way in advance. We need to have all LION fans seats atleast 10 minutes before tip. It will look sweet on FSN Prime Ticket. Wear crimson (MANDATORY). Let's just keep roaring throughout. lmulions.cstv.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/111808aab.htmlI'm bringing my Bayno KOOL-AID and home made signs. Copy cats signs welcomed! 1) JUST SAY BAYNO, 2) BAYNO'S BALLERS, 3) BAYNO is BACK!, 4) LMU is MAXimum GOODness! 5) HANK'S HOUSE! 6) PURE LION! Remember Gersten opens its doors at 6PM. Let fill Hank's House with roaring, crimson wearing, basketball loving, Irish hating fans! Anybody have any good heckle for Irish players? Our Lions will need all the support in the world to pull this one out. Remember the upset against the Zags a few years ago. No Worthy, injured Matty Knight.....it was Doh Miller and John Montgomery that were the stars that evening. Anything is possible. I believe in Bayno and our Lions. But we need roaring fans. Let's give our team and Bayno a great warm welcome to LMU basketball. Bayno and the coaching staff has yet to experience a full house in Gersten. Let's rock this place. Be mindful that I assume Notre Dame fans have purchased 10-20% of the tickets. We need to squash their voices. A challenge out to the paying Lion Fan population....Roar will do their part, but what about those that are the long-time ticket holders wishing LMU to turn this program around. It is your responsibility to get off your hands and stand, cheer, and vocally rout our team to victory. Don't just wear that long-sleave office shirt to the game. Plan ahead and wear crimson. Don't have any....PURCHASE some at the store in the Gersten Lobby about 30 minutes prior to game time and put it on. Don't just support our lions with the check book. Instead raise your hands and cheer. MANDATORY....if we go on a run and Notre Dame calls time out.....ALL MUST STAND from the first row to the back row. It is the momentum of emotion that help push a team to the most unlikely win. Do your part. Feel the ROAR.
