Bayno and our boys better beat Vegas. 21 is a lot of points to play with. LMU needs to use every bit of the shot clock when possible. Let's keep this low scoring and we have a shot at a Miracle in Westchester. I believe it our Lions! I will be disappointed if we lose in front of a packed house by more than 15 points. ESPECIALLY, when Bayno & Co. has had this circled on their calendars for months, have access to hours upon hours of game tape of Notre Dame (same starters as prior year). Over the summer the coaching staff should have been watching this tape. Bayno should know everything that they run. Whether Bayno has the horses to compete is another story, but our our players should be in the right position on the court.
This is the time and Gersten is the place. There is always one big upset of a ranked team at the beginning of the year....Let it be our LMU LIONS taking down Notre Dame.
We need everyone's support. LOUD fan support. Get there EARLY. VERY EARLY.

We will not win. I'd bet on a 20 point game. We just need to cheer them on. I hear your view, but I think just like the team, fans need to believe we CAN win. If we don't believe it, it will rub off on the team. We CAN win.

Problem is we're a running team. It will be hard for us to slow down the game, and asking our young guys to guard Harangody in a slow half court game is almost impossible. That being said I was at the Gonzaga upset a few years back and anything can happen, especially in front of a huge home game sellout. Looking forward to cheering them on!!!!

Problem is we're a running team. quote] Whelan4life: That was what I thought....we're a running team. That is what Bayno said in his preseason talks to fan, boosters, etc. Then I hear the games on KXLU this past weekend from Ames, Iowa, and there is very very very little running we are doing. Then Michael Schoell, our 3rd Assistant Coach, is interviewed by Jeff Lampe on KLXU and said the plan was to slow the ball down and take as much off the clock. If that was the game plan for the World Vision Classic, I think Bayno & Co. are straying from their original pre-season thoughts of running. We are definitely getting mixed messages (which I have been holding out of flushing this on the board until now) from the coaching staff. I understand your point though. But I do think the best chance we have is to eat away at the clock and run on select options (off defensive rebounds).

From what I saw at the Hope International game, I thought we were much better as a running team rather than a slow the ball down team like at the WVC...just from what I have seen and heard!

Timmeaboy,
Hope Int'l has won 2 games in their last 4 seasons...
I don't think you can get an honest evaluation from a bad NAIA team...
The team you saw against Davis is probably what you'll see for most the year.
You can't blame Bayno - he needs better players.
Agree with you Lionspride (can't believe I wrote that) that you're getting a mixed message - but every coach says they want to run and get up and down and play an 'exciting brand of basketball' when they get hired...
what you expect? "yeah we're going to slow it down, walk it up, and hope to rebound."

Pretty interesting that this will be the fifth time LMU and ND have faced off on the hardwood. ND holds a 3-1 lead in the series.

Nice bit of info, I missed the games this weekend just saw the boxscores, so all i was going off was the hope game and what bayno had said. It seems like at this point in time teel is the only one who can create a shot for himself in the halfcourt, from the games this weekend where is our offense coming from? It seems to me like maybe Bayno should try and run. Also for anyone who saw or listened to the games were we just unlucky or is our perimeter, 3 point, defense just bad??

recipe: Mickey's malt liquor 1 bottle of Night Train 1 packet of Kool-Aid mix your dignity
Mix it in after you drank approx. 1/3 of the Mickey's. Perfect for Hannon tailgating, and reminiscing about/pining for LMU women.
