It sounds like we are shooting to have Quincy take Sutton's place.
Lawson ( If he commits) Garibay Osborne Kalipinde
Very excellent class indeed!

This sounds great! I'm good with trading Sutton for either Lawson or Osborne. Let's hope they come thru. But is Lawson going to wait to see what else comes up? Bayno did catch come pretty good players last year late after joining the staff, but with Lawson's ratings (DuBois 76, Young 67, Armstead and Hamilton both 40 - which means not on the radar screen). Lawson's 88 rating makes him high on the list of non-commited players at this point. By the way, if the NCAA had not recently cancelled their 5/8 rule, we could only recruit 3 players max this season as we brought in 5 last year - although Lasme (one of the five) disappeared.

Just talked to Drew Viney. Asked him if he heard about the big comittment this weekend. He said, "Yeah Quincy and Alex." Nothing official, but still exciting.
Also, I was just in th gym and saw a player 6-6 or 6-7 that looked like an excellent player shooting around. Not sure if it was Alex or Quincy, or even another prospect. No coaches were around though.

Both Quincy and Alex were in the gym on Friday. Quincy is commited for sure- still waiting to hear about Alex. Waterboy mentioned he has one more visit.

Great - I guess the new floor in done now and ready for play? Maybe the state of the art gym upgrade is a positive for recruits - albeit a minor factor among other considerations - campus, team mates, coaches, academics, location, etc.

They were playing in Burns Rec...
Found this little run down on Alex:
10. Alex Osborne 6’8” Pacific Hills (Los Angeles CA)
Long-armed post runs floor well and can finish while driving to the basket. Very good rebounder and defender is the top unsigned SoCal postman not named Sidney. Wyoming, SMU, Boston University, San Diego State, Cal State Northidge and Cal State Bakersfield are among the schools showing interest.

Some competition there but no one compelling in my book. BU weather is wanting but Boston is great college town. Wyoming - what's there? SMU and San Diego State - may be attractive. I wouldn't worry about Cal State Northridge or Bakersfield - no comparison to LMU. Nice that Alex has grown an inch already. (They say the reported heights are usually 1-2 inches too high in general.)

Alex played for Pacific Hills school, a college prep school in West Hollywood. Their basketball team finished with a ranking of second in California in Division V. www.phschool.org/

Final Rankings for all Divisions in California: 44. Pacific Hills (Los Angeles) 28-7 With Derick Flowers (17.1 ppg) and Alex Osborne (15.7 ppg) leading the way, the Bruins showed their worth in wins over Loyola, Rancho Verde and Serra of Gardena. They couldn't do much with Windward, though, with a loss during the regular season and another loss in the playoffs. myespn.go.com/blogs/calhisports/0-6-59/Final-2009-Boys-BB-Overall-State-Rankings.html
