Fisher looks like he’d be an absolute game changer for us.

Looks like the player we need. Pair him with McBride and we look like we could be pretty good and more athletic.

Before we anoint this kid our new savior, remember he averaged 3.3 points for a 16-16 team (5-13 in conference). According to their hoops forum, he's very raw. I'm not saying he's bad, just young. We would need to give him time, this would not be a Day One starter (sorry to be the wet blanket, but I don't want people to turn on him if he isn't great right away and expectations will do that). Here's his bio from the Texas Tech athletics page:
Played in 28 games with one start in his first season at Tech… Averaged 3.3 points and 2.0 rebounds per game… Scored a season-high eight points against Jackson State in non-conference play and then again in a home loss to No. 24 TCU where he was 3-for-4 from the field… Fisher made his only start of the season against Kansas State and finished with two points and three rebounds… Recorded a career-high nine rebounds in a win over LSU in the Big 12-SEC Challenge in Baton Rouge… Also had five points and two steals in the win over LSU… Finished the season shooting 35-for-76 (46.1 percent) from the field.

Agree with lionlife except for the fact he wouldn't be a day one starter, he would immediately become the best SF on our roster, just a matter is we go small and start Taitz at the SF position over him (which I don't think we would do).

Last year, Cam was a savior. Without him, the Lions would’ve been duking it out with the Waves for 9/10 place.
This next season I don’t think (at least I hope) that we will have a more complete team and not need that one player to win our games. From the film I watched, this guy can move with the ball. That’s what we need - someone who can penetrate. I think (again, hope) Coach Stan has some better shooters lined up for next season. But we are in desperate need of a couple wings/SFs who can collapse defenses. We also need someone who can defend 6’7” SFs. From what I read, this guy can defend. I know Coach Stan saw man-on-man defense to be a real weakness last season and he is looking for guys who can get the job done.
I have no idea what Texas Tech was doing last season. I know the coach was in hot water and I’m guessing there was a lot of dysfunctionalism on the team This guy was a freshman last season used to scoring up to 75 points in a game and now playing on a team that definitely had some issues.
Again, I’m not looking for this guy to be “the man” next season. I’ll be very happy to see him as one (successful) member of what looks like could be a fairly complete team.

Any news on how the Elijah Fisher visit went? Wasn’t he coming in this past weekend?

I too was wondering. In the past when things go great we hear pretty quickly if the player commits to LMU. I’m assuming Fisher is checking out his other options before deciding.

Agreed seems like he is probably going to take his time before making a decision. Was hoping for a visit and quick commitment like Lars did!

Fisher made some headlines on Twitter after he did an interview with Hip Hop Heads. Guess he said the coaching was a mess, Lubbock lacked diversity, and he was sick of the food there. We can probably beat Tech in the first two departments, but not sure about the food!

I watched the video on Twitter and came away with the impression that Fisher has a large body frame to build on. Broad shoulders and length, probably room to grow a few inches in height. In other words, a really solid athlete. Hope Coach Johnson can lure him to LMU.

UTRGV transfer Will Johnston confirmed on Friday night that he has narrowed his list of schools to Temple, Oregon State and Loyola Marymount and that he will make his choice “hopefully over the next week.”

Johnson had 7 30-point games last season on a 15-17 D1 team in the WAC.

Johnson had 7 30-point games last season on a 15-17 D1 team in the WAC. Looks like a typo - he had seven 20 point games and two 30 point games - definitely a shooter and looks like this confirms our desire for a 3 guard lineup. Would definitely have to make an adjustment to the level of play but potentially seems like he could be an upgrade over Meadows.

What am I misreading in the "high points" column of Johnson's last year schedule? www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/team/schedule/_/id/292looks like he had 22 games with 20 or more points also.
