Dameane Douglas left last nights game with an ankle injury in the second quarter and did not return. This is literally all I know, don't know if it is serious or if he will be back out there tomorrow. Hopefully he is okay, I will look for updates.

I see his team lost without Douglas even though a J. Green scored 39 points.

I was at his semi-final game when he hurt his ankle, and reffed the third place game tonight. in which he would have played. I spoke to his coach about his injury and he will have an MRI on Monday with results expected by midweek. Seeing the actual ankle on Friday after he injured it, it looked like a really bad sprain, where he likely would miss several games. However, I did catch him play for 1 1/2 quarters before he injured it. Again, it was a semi-final game against Fresno Clovis West, and he looked real good. Has a scorers mentality, but doesn't force anything. A solid to good jumper, can get to the basket, but needs to get stronger so that he can finish at the rim more consistently, but that will come with age. Overall, I think he will be a solid all around player, but the potential to be a high volume scorer...

Yes, very promising.
Hope he takes his time coming back and gets healthy. Selfishly, may be a blessing that he doesn't play in these high-profile holiday tournaments so he stays off the radar of other schools.
Excited to see what Douglas will do at LMU next year!

I was told at the gym that night that some Pac-12 schools had started showing some mid-high level interest, but fortunately he signed his LOI so we should be clear of any concerns

This from Twitter:
"SLCC Men's Bball@SLCCbasketball Nov 28
After only half a year at SLCC, 6’9” Kur Kuath has offers from Utah, Oklahoma, Loyola Marymount, Utah St, Utah Valley, Washington St, BYU, Hawaii, Robert Morris, UTRGV, Tennessee St, Pacific, etc. @kur35klutch"
Unlikely signee but it would be a great player to get with our lack of height at Forward who can score and really play the game.
In a recent game, Kuath had 20 points, 7 boards and 3 blocks; in another, 6 points, 20 boards and 13 blocks.
He recently visited Oklahoma.
Given a few more games like the Gaels contest and I can envision a wholesale change of the Lions roster next season.

It will be interesting to see if CMD and current staff will be able to continue to recruit Socal. Interesting tweet I just found from a local hoops trainer.
"Might be time for LMU to get Mike Dunlap up out the paint man. That NBA pedigree sounded good but them long practices and great quotes on Twitter not translating to WINS".

Are we assuming that Petr Herman is coming back next year? I believe is he going to apply for a medical redshirt, but the dude will be entering his mid 20s, and he may have done enough to get an obscure Euro contract somewhere next season, especially with his size, ala Adom Jacko. Maybe he doesnt want to be hanging out with kids anymore. With no Haney, who is are only threat to drastically game change, it seems as though next year could be worse unless they find some guys to play up front.
You have Bateman returning for a year, McClendon as a physical defensive 2, with Allen, currently in Dunlap's pit of misery, and Quintana as the backups.
Scott is your undersized 3, but with his ability to rebound and play strong will hang with at least half the SF's he will face (but get torched by the bigger ones)
At the 4, you have Williams and Simmons. Simmons showed us a bit of range knocking down the 3. You can tell that he is interested in expanding his game, so if he can grow a little bit and physically mature, he might be able to play that spot more consistently. Williams just seems like he is going to struggle with his length.
At the 5 you have the 7-3 guy who is not terrible for the league. He would definitely improve with a big man camp style of off season.
Recruiting wise, he is bringing in Douglas who seems to be a prototypical SF. But the year after that, Bateman is gone, and Quintana is your future PG. Oof.
It just seems as though unless there is a huge recruiting get, or a transfer from a power program that actually hits, this could be worse over the next three seasons.

I'm pretty sure some guys are going to get cut or asked to leave. Right now don't think Herman will be back. Haney has been streaky at times but it seems like he has been more consistent recently. He is going to be hard to replace.

I don't have any info on Petr's future but I would like him to return. LMU has invested in his development and it should pay off in his Senior season. As to his options, he likely will graduate and could go anywhere in D1 basketball next year. I could imagine someone wanting to experience another program or area to live, like Jarred DuBois did a few years ago. He went to Utah, started and led them to an NCAA tournament slot. Herman could have that experience also - LMU is not likely to make the NCAA tournament next season (in my opinion). I would like to see some shakeup with the rest of the roster, excluding a number of key guys, and have some seasoned JC players come in and help, especially inside. SLB - in short, I think like iron that lots of changes could happen that we cannot envision right now. This has been the case in the past.

Dameane Douglas returned to action last night and got 20 points in the win, two big games for him coming up Friday (vs Bullard) and Saturday (vs Salesion, one of the top teams in the country).

So he missed six weeks. Hope he is fully recovered and not trying to play through it. Seems like a very promising prospect! Thanks for the info.
